Madame Tussauds is famous for creating lifelike wax figures of everyone's favorite celebrities. Well, in most cases they're pretty lifelike. In a few unfortunate ones, the statues leave a bit to be desired. In fact, there's one statue fans absolutely hate and have labeled as the worst ever.

But other statues are controversial for more than just their questionable likeness to the star they're meant to imitate. While celebrities tend to be diplomatic about their statues — whether the things are hideous or not — fans don't hesitate to speak up honestly about their complaints.

After all, the fans are the ones the figures at Madame Tussauds are really made for. Only, one fan went a bit too far with their love for one statue in particular, and the museum had to act.

Some wax figures at Madame Tussauds run into problems maintenance-wise because fans won't keep their hands to themselves. One statue, for example, has to have retouches of his makeup nearly every hour because people won't stop kissing him.

But other wax figures garner a different kind of attention. That was the unfortunate case with Nicki Minaj's wax figure at Madame Tussauds, and fans were angry.

As E! Online related, 2015 was the year that a special wax figure was released to commemorate Minaj's hit from the previous year, "Anaconda." The problem was that in an effort to make the wax Nicki look like the real one, the museum's creators put her on all fours in a revealing outfit — the same way she was in the music video for the song.

That's one thing fans took issue with, however — the fact that of all Nicki's accomplishments, her wax figure had to show her in such a compromising position. Azealia Banks even tweeted about the perceived disrespect Minaj was given, calling it "underhanded shade."

That wasn't the only problem, though. As fans pointed out, the NSFW position of the star meant that her posterior was more accessible than other wax figures that are standing upright. This unfortunate fact was finally addressed when a fan tweeted a photo of himself with his face uncomfortably close to the wax figure's behind.

Fans were livid, and Madame Tussauds issued a statement about the "inappropriate photograph" and apologized for "any offense" the situation caused. Then, they said they'd add more staff in the area and redesign the set so no one can get at wax Nicki's private parts.

Nicki herself didn't seem fazed by the situation, though. She tweeted her thanks to fans for coming after the inappropriate paparazzi, saying "Like I'm off in my own lil world n yall on here gettin results like how r u so cute?"

The fact is, however, that Nicki and her team approved the figure and were involved in the creation process (like most muses), notes Cassius. Nicki even posted an Instagram vid saying the figure was amazing. But, she wasn't thrilled with the inappropriate pics later on.
