A man from Romania was very surprised when he ended up discovering over 90,000 euros (more than $100,000) hidden away in a second-hand cupboard he had recently purchased. But thanks to the good nature of the man, as soon as he found the money, he returned it to the rightful owners.

The man, named Samuel Stanici, was a construction worker and had recently purchased the cupboard from a certain popular online website. However, a few days later, when his wife was making dinner for the family, he called out to her, to show her his discovery. It turned out that there was a metal box in the cupboard that they received, completely filled up with 500-euro banknotes. The two then counted all of the money, and when they realized how much they had found, they spent a sleepless night worrying.

According to the couple, they thought that all of the stashed money was some sort of a setup or a trap, so they immediately knew they had to return it to wherever it had come from. So Samuel took the box with the hidden money, got in his car, and hit the road. He traveled all the way to the western village named Bichigi, where the owner and seller of the cupboard that he purchased was located.

The seller greeted Samuel and told him that the cupboard was actually left behind by his late father, but he didn’t need it, so decided to sell it. When Samuel told him about the money and showed him the box that was filled with banknotes, the man was also surprised. According to the seller, he had no idea that his father had been keeping such a large amount of cash hidden away in a box. But what he found to be practically equally unbelievable was the fact that Samuel was such a great man, that he traveled across the country in order to return all of the money, which did not belong to him. So the seller decided to award Samuel and his wife, Adela, with some money for their honesty, a sum which they have wisely kept to themselves.
