When most people think about celebrities who are rich and famous, it is images of musicians and famous actors that come to mind first and foremost. Considering that many movie stars have fortunes that are larger than $100 million, that makes a lot of sense. On top of that, a lot of those celebrities lead lives that seem so wildly affluent that it is hard to imagine living like that. For example, it is well known that there are a lot of major celebrities own homes that cost a lot more than most people will make in their entire lives.

Even though several famous actors and musicians have lots of money, their fortunes pale in comparison to Mark Zuckerberg’s insane net worth. After all, Zuckerberg currently has a $128 billion personal fortune according to celebritynetworth.com. As a result of being worth so much money, Zuckerberg has been able to become the owner of so much real estate that he blows most stars out of the water. Even though Zuckerberg could brag about his real estate, it arguably puts him to shame.

How Mark Zuckerberg’s Real Estate Explains How Controversial He Is

As anyone who has followed the news in recent years will already know, Mark Zuckerberg has a long history of controversy. It also has to be noted that most of the controversies that Zuckerberg has been wrapped up in had nothing to do with his real estate holdings. For example, when people talk about Zuckerberg cashing in on misinformation running rampant on Facebook, they don’t bring up his real estate. With that in mind, some people may be left wondering how Zuckerberg’s real estate holdings possibly could shed light on why he is so controversial.

The first thing to keep in mind is that Mark Zuckerberg’s real estate holdings have directly resulted in controversy for the business leader. For example, in 2019 it was reported that Zuckerberg was doing construction on his San Francisco home and it was angering his neighbors because of how loud the work was. In fact, one complaint that was filed with the city claimed that the construction was so loud that “with windows closed it is louder than our conversations”. At the time, the construction was also said to be going on at all hours.

As awful as it would be to live near-constant construction that loud, Zuckerberg’s behavior in Hawaii was much, much worse. Once Zuckerberg became a Hawaiin landowner, he decided that he wanted to own all of the real estate that was connected to his property. After failing to acquire the land he wanted because owners refused to sell, Zuckerberg lawyered up. When it became known that Zuckerberg tried to force native Hawaiians to give up their land in court, the backlash was strong which resulted in him dropping the suit.

When it comes to Mark Zuckerberg’s efforts to take all of the real estate he wants and his history of loud construction, one word comes to mind, entitled. With that in mind, all of Zuckerberg’s other controversies make a lot of sense. After all, since Zuckerberg seems to feel he is entitled to whatever he wants, why would he think about how any of his actions affect anyone else?
