There's something new out there that is causing everyone's skin to erupt with pimples... and it's not acne. According to Kourtney Kardashian, this skin irritation and pimple breakout is caused by having to wear face masks, especially in the heat.

In true Kardashian fashion, she has a solution for this condition, which can be found by perusing her very own, very branded website, Poosh. Kourtney has coined the term, "Mask-ne" to identify this condition, and everyone is tuning in.

Face Masks are going to be a necessity for all of us for quite some time, and it's understandable that the sudden use of masks, especially in the hotter months, is irritating to the skin. None of us are used to this, but it's something we have to learn to work with for the foreseeable future. If Kourtney Kardashian has a few ideas on how to avoid or manage 'Maskne,' she's surely found a captive audience.

Mask-ne: The New Problem

Bare-faced is our 'normal', and face masks are going to take a while for us to adjust to. Those already prone to troublesome skin conditions and breakouts, and teens entering that acne-prone stage of life are surely having a difficult time adjusting to wearing masks.

As the mask rubs against our faces and we perspire, the skin gets irritated and sweaty. The friction of the mask when talking can also be problematic, and let's bear in mind that as we talk within the mask itself, our own saliva is being caught in the mask and is held against our faces.  This is a recipe for disaster when it comes to skin health.

Sure, the mask undoubtedly covers up the breakout you may experience, but let's face it... you'll have to take it off at some point. Kourtney comes to the rescue with tips and ideas to keep your bare-face happy.

Kourtney Kardashian To The Rescue

Kourtney has lots of ideas about how to fix and even prevent the pesky Mask-ne problem. Firstly, she suggests a different mask for each day. Reusing masks or relying on quick washes isn't a good idea. Then there's the obvious, yet important concept of wearing less, or dare we say, no makeup on your skin. Cosmetics are going to clog your pores and result in breakouts, and if your face is concealed anyway, then the best way to counter this problem is to go makeup-free.

Double cleansing and exfoliation are also encouraged, and of course, the Poosh website has a variety of products to select from that are aligned with Kourtney's suggestions.
