After a long wait, singer and songwriter Adele finally released her album 30, and was met with positive reviews from fans and critics. Although media outlets have done homework before speaking with the singer, one Australian reporter named didn't. Because of this, he was reportedly suspended by the television program for two weeks.

Host of Weekend Sunrise Matt Doran flew to London to conduct the interview with the singer. However, throughout their entire conversation, he did not ask the artist about her latest album, and later admitted that he hadn't listened to it.

After the interview, sources have said that the singer walked out the moment he said that. However, others are saying that the interview with Doran was already finished. Adele's label has since denied the channel to air the interview, and it has since been shelved.

Progression Of 30

Following the success of 2015's 25, the "Rolling in the Deep" singer began working on the album in 2018. Over the next couple of years, she dropped hints regarding her album on her Instagram, and announced that the album would be released in Sept. 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, album production and release were delayed.

Adele eventually released her first single off of 30 titled "Easy on Me" in Oct. 2021, topping the charts in twenty-three countries. It went on to receive critical acclaim from fans and critics, and broke Spotify and Amazon Music records for the most streams for a song in a day or a week.

Doran's Careless Mistakes Haunt Him

Doran has since gone back on the air, and The Chronicle has reported statements he gave to The Australian regarding the interview mishap. “When I sat down to interview Adele, I was totally unaware that I’d been emailed a preview of her unreleased album,” Doran said. “I have since discovered it was sent to me as an ‘e card’ link, which I somehow missed upon landing in London. It was an oversight but NOT a deliberate snub. This is the most important email I have ever missed.”

As of this publication, Adele has not responded to Doran's statements, and whether or not she accepted his apology. However, she is continuing to promote 30, and will continue to participate in interviews regarding the album for the next few months. As of this publication, it is unknown how many copies of the album have been sold.
