One huge film is all it takes for someone to hit the next level in their career, and fans saw how things truly took off for Brendan Fraser after he starred in The Mummy. Fraser was already successful, but that first Mummy film made him a huge star. Since then, Fraser has kept busy, and he has done some great film and television work.

Because the MCU is a powerhouse franchise, fans are always dream-casting characters that have yet to make an appearance. Despite his work with DC, MCU fans have an interesting villain picked out for Fraser to play.

So, which big baddie should Brendan Fraser play? Let’s see what the fans have to say about it.

Brendan Fraser Has Been In Hollywood For Ages

To get a glimpse into why Marvel fans would love nothing more than to see Brendan Fraser enter the MCU, it is so important to take a look at his body of work and see what he has been able to accomplish during his years in Hollywood. Through ups and downs, Fraser has been a mainstay in the industry and has more hits than most people even realize.

Earlier in his career, Brendan Fraser was doing quite a bit of both film and television work, but eventually, he would begin to find more success on the big screen and shift his attention to working primarily in film. 1992’s Encino Man was a success on the big screen, and it really got the ball rolling for Fraser, who starred in the film alongside Pauly Shore and Sean Astin. As the decade moved along, Fraser would stack up credits and eventually find more success.

In 1999, things really came together for Fraser when he starred in The Mummy, which kickstarted a fresh film franchise and turned him into a major star. The film’s sequel proved to be a huge hit, as well. This was followed with hits like Crash and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Over time, Fraser developed a loyal following, and he even has some experience in the world of comic books projects.

He Has Done Work With DC

Beginning back in 2019, Brendan Fraser took on the role of Robotman in Doom Patrol, which has been a nice success for DC on the small screen. The DCEU may be struggling to keep up with the MCU, but on television, DC has been doing exceptional work for quite some time. Doom Patrol was a fantastic addition to their small screen lineup, and Fraser has been great as Robotman.

Thanks to his time on Doom Patrol, Fraser has also crossed over onto the DC series Titans as the same character that he portrays on his mainstay series. DC’s ability to connect its television universe has been outstanding, and it could lead to Fraser making other appearances as Robotman if things really ramp up with crossovers and universes colliding with one another.

Again, DC has done some fantastic work on the small screen, but the big screen is where Marvel has truly been holding things down. Given his history in film and his time in comic book projects, MCU fans have had their eyes on Fraser for some time. In fact, one fan has the perfect villain for Fraser to play.

Marvel Fans Want Him Playing Lizard

Back in 2016, a Reddit user posited the question about which Marvel character Brendan Fraser could potentially play at some point down the line. One user suggested that Fraser take on the role of Lizard, who is one of the most popular Spider-Man villains to date. Turns out, Marvel fans in the thread loved the idea, and this is something that many would love to see happen in the future.

Lizard has appeared on the big screen before, as Rhys Ifans played the character in The Amazing Spider-Man. Marvel could elect to bring Ifans back for the charcater if they are going with a multiverse approach, but they could also cast someone fresh as the character, which could lead Fraser to the part. It may never happen, but clearly, the interest from the fans is there.

As it stands now, Lizard is not slated to appear in the MCU, and Fraser is not attached to any MCU projects. The MCU is rapidly expanding, and thanks to WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and some rumors for Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is possible that big things could happen with casting in the near future. That being said, maybe this dream casting will come to life one day.
