Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings features some of the best action-sequences we’ve ever seen in the MCU. In the comics, Shang-Chi is referred to as the “Master of Kung Fu”, so fans were anticipating incredible martial arts choreography the film would have to lean into.

While Simu Liu had his work cut out for him from the very beginning, Chinese-American actress Fala Chen and Hong Kong legend Tony Leung were expected to do the same for their roles. A memorable fight scene between Leung’s villainous character Wenwu and Shang-Chi's mother Ying Li, played by Fala Chen has caught the attention of fans, for its meet-cute disguised in the form of a martial arts battle.

This Actor’s Husband Is Jealous

In a moment during the fight scene, the co-stars look at each other longingly and fans are in awe. But it isn’t just fans who are obsessed with the scene!

Fala Chen’s husband Emmanuel Straschnov tweeted the scene, poking fun at the jealousy he felt while watching it.

“If only my wife could look at me like this…” wrote Straschnov, tagging his wife alongside a photo of the scene featuring Chen and Tony Leung.

Fala shared his tweet, writing “You know you are doing a good job when your husband is jealous.”

Marvel fans replied, reassuring Straschnov. "He shouldn't be too concerned. That's how we all want to look at Tony Leung," a user wrote.

"You guys had the smoothest fight it was like dancing it showed so much chemistry!! I smiled for every second!" gushed another.

The fight scenes in Shang-Chi were meticulously choreographed by late Australian martial artist Brad Allan, who is known for his splendid work in films of global star Jackie Chan, as well as stunt performer Peng Zhang, who assisted him.

Discussing her training for the scene, Fala Chen explained that she trained in tai-chi for over a month while Leung learned the sequence in two days, because of his skill and experience.

Chen also shared that their scene was one of the longest martial arts scenes in the MCU, but Simu Liu took over the record with his intricate bus fight scene.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now in cinemas.
