Melissa Joan Hart has revealed her breakthrough COVID infection, and she's not the only celebrity to contract the virus despite being fully vaccinated.

In an emotional Instagram post on August 18th, Hart revealed she has contracted COVID-19, despite the fact that she is fully vaccinated. She stated in the video that it's "hard to breathe," and that one of her kids may have it as well.

Hart reported that she may have caught the virus from one of her kids, who went to school unmasked. In her Instagram message, she stated that she is "really mad" that her kids don't have to wear masks at school, and that the country has gotten "lazy" regarding COVID prevention. She also called on people to protect their families and kids.

Hart is not the only celebrity to contract a breakthrough case of COVID; Hilary Duff and Reba McEntire have also reportedly contracted it. In early August, country star McEntire shared on a TikTok livestream that she and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, had the virus. She urged fans to wear their masks and stay home. She also stated that "it's not fun" and "you don't feel good" when you have the virus.

Hilary Duff also announced on August 20th that she has a breakthrough case of COVID. The singer and actress posted a photo of herself laying in bed to her Instagram Stories. Breakthrough COVID cases seem to be the next battle that the world will be facing. The number of cases have been on the rise in North America, but it is hard to estimate the exact number due to asymptomatic cases and lack of testing. CDC studies show that the vaccines may not be as effective against the Delta variant as they are against the original virus.

Although the number of breakthrough cases are increasing, hospitalizations remain stable. This indicates that the vaccine is preventing severe illnesses; in fact, most breakthrough cases are asymptomatic or mild. Booster shots are expected to start becoming available next month.
