Michael B. Jordan honored his former castmate and friend, the late Chadwick Boseman in a touching Instagram post this week, after the actor earned a record of SAG award nominations.

Boseman, who passed away in August from a silent four-year with colon cancer, at the age of 43, just became the first person to receive four nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in the same year.

Jordan was Boseman’s co-star in the blockbuster Marvel film Black Panther. In a series of photos on his Instagram story, he commemorated the actor's last historical achievements by showcasing the two films he’s nominated for, which is Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods.

Boseman was nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for Da 5 Bloods.

In addition, Boseman received an additional two nominations for both films along with each respective cast, which were both nominated for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.

Prior to this announcement, Boseman also received a posthumous award nomination for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards for his excellent performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

In an interview with People, Jordan talked more the impact that the death Boseman has had on him, as well as the death Kobe Bryant.

"Looking at two people in particular that had a real impact on me, in Kobe and Chadwick. You always look at your own mortality after something like that," he said. "The impact they've had on people in this world is truly incredibleTo move that and push that ball forward is really important. That's kind of what I want my legacy to be."

After Boseman’s passing, Jordan gave a heartwarming tribute to the actor on Instagram, writing, “I wish we had more time.”

"One of the last times we spoke, you said we were forever linked, and now the truth of that means more to me than ever," he continued.

Particularly touching was when Jordan wrote, "Since nearly the beginning of my career, starting with All My Children when I was 16 years old, you paved the way for me. You showed me how to be better, honor purpose, and create legacy. And whether you've known it or not…I've been watching, learning and constantly motivated by your greatness."
