Harry Styles may have the same look, but he doesn’t have the moves like Mick Jagger—at least according to The Rolling Stones frontman himself. Not that Jagger holds anything against Styles, a pop star he likes and has “an easy relationship” with, but truth be told, he doesn't think they actually have many musical or artistic similarities.

Mick Jagger Says Harry Styles "Doesn't Have A Voice Like Mine"

The Watermelon Sugar singer has long lauded the rock icon as being consequential to his career and influencing his style, particularly when it comes to his wardrobe. The singer’s flamboyant fashion choices have often recalled that of Mick’s 1970s-era onstage persona.

“When I look at them, I don’t know what it is, but it’s this, this something special,” Harry said of Mick’s influence, among others, during a 2019 interview with L’Officiel.

However, when the Satisfaction singer was asked about Harry—as he frequently is—in a new interview with The Times U.K., it didn’t sound like he found the comparisons very flattering.

“I like Harry — we have an easy relationship. I mean, I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him. Come on, I was much more androgynous,” Mick said of Harry’s flamboyant style, which has included donning a dress for the cover of Vogue.

He added: “And he doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that.”

Mick Jagger Has Always Been Dismissive Of Harry Styles

Mick sang a different tune during an interview back in 2015, when he said Harry had “it going on,” but he was similarly dismissive of the 28-year-old singer.

“He’s got it going on. I know him, he comes to see me in lots of shows,” he said at the time. “And yeah, I can see the influence. But I don’t say anything to him. I just tell him he looks nice. I like him. He’s very decent.”

The Harry’s House singer will star in the upcoming psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling, and while Mick also tried his hand at acting—he has previously said that in his heyday “there was a lot of prejudice against musicians being actors."
