Ever since Nicki Minaj came onto the scene releasing hip-hop music alongside the likes of Lil Wayne and Drake, the world has been taking her very seriously. By the time she released her album Pink Friday in 2010, pretty much everyone already knew her name!
Now that Nicki Minaj just welcomed her first child into the world, it seems that she is taking a step back from music and focusing on motherhood above everything else. Her fans couldn’t be happier for her! But it is also a good time to reflect on some of the past few feuds she’s had since she is living a much more peaceful life these days away from all the drama.
10 Farrah Abraham
Nicki Minaj’s beef with Farrah Abraham took place in 2016 when they went head to head against each other on Twitter. Farrah Abraham is a young woman from Teen Mom who has gone through major highs and lows over the years ever since getting pregnant as a teenager and signing on to be part of the MTV show. Nicki Minaj tweeted out that Farrah was an expletive based on the way Farrah was treating her mother on an episode of teen mom. Farrah snapped back criticizing Nicki Minaj’s music video aesthetic.
9 Cardi B
Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were feuding with each other starting back in 2017. No one knows for sure if the two female rappers are cool with each other now but they had some serious issues that the entire media has been well aware of. It all started when Nicki Minaj double-tapped a comment on Instagram dissing Cardi B’s rapping style. It escalated at a 2018 Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York fashion week. The video footage wasn’t clear enough for people to really see what went down. Later on, Nicki Minaj denied that it was her who took swings at Cardi B.
8 Taylor Swift
The beef between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift took place in 2015 and it all happened over social media. Nicki Minaj’s music video for “Anaconda" did not get a nomination for an MTV music video award and Nicki Minaj was quite frustrated about it. She posted that she felt only celebrity women with slim bodies could have a chance to be nominated. Taylor Swift responded saying, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.“ Nicki Minaj tried to backtrack and make it seem like it wasn’t Taylor Swift who she was referring to... although Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood“ ended up snagging a nomination.
7 Miley Cyrus
When Miley Cyrus was asked about the feud between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus seemingly sided with Taylor Swift referring to Nicki Minaj as someone who was “not too kind.“ A month later on stage at the VMAs, Nicki Minaj responded by asking Miley, “What’s good!?“
Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus still aren’t cool with each other. Miley Cyrus has collaborated with rappers like Future and French Montana in the past but let’s not hold our breath on a collaboration between her and Nicki.
6 Iggy Azalea
The drama between Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj went down in the early 2010s when they were both still on the come up in the rap music game. Fans thought shots were fired when Nicki Minaj dissed Iggy is Elia in her 2015 BET awards acceptance speech. She praised herself in the fact that she writes her own rhymes which seemed to be a dig against Iggy Azalea who has used the help of ghostwriters in the past. Iggy azalea responded letting everyone know that she was highly unbothered.
5 Meek Mill
Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj used to have a really cute relationship and in fact, they even released some awesome music together. They are break up on the other hand was very messy and very toxic. They started airing out all the dirty laundry for the entire world to see after their split. Needless to say, it was a bitter break up.
Nicki Minaj referred to Mick Mill as a clown and accused him of beating women. Meek Mill responded by coming at Nicki Minaj foul for taking her brother's side after knowing that her brother was convicted of assaulting an 11-year-old little girl.
4 Travis Scott
The drama between Travis Scott and Nicki Minaj exists because of his relationship with Kylie Jenner and his adorable daughter, Stormi. Nicki Minaj did not like the fact that Travis Scott album was doing better than her album in 2018 so she tweeted, “I put my blood sweat & tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi. lol. I'm actually laughing. #Queen broke the record of being number 1 in 86 countries. Thank Jesus & thank you to my fans.” She felt that the extra promotion coming from Kylie Jenner is what gave Travis Scott an edge… It wasn’t exactly how good his music was.
3 Remy Ma
The feud between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma was started by Nicki Minaj in 2007. There was a particular line and Nicki Minaj‘s freestyle “Dirty Money" that Remy Ma took as a personal attack. Rumors about the two females having a romantic connection surfaced causing more drama to grow. Remy Ma stirred the pot when she freestyle wrapped over Nicki Minaj's song “Truffle Butter“ and Nicki Minaj responded with two diss tracks in 2017 to add lighter fluid to the flames.
2 Mariah Carey
No one wanted to see beef between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj become a reality but that is exactly what happened. They were working together as judges on American Idol and they were continually budding heads during their time on the show. Nicki Minaj downplayed the situation explaining that she and Mariah Carey were simply both divas while she was on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Ever since then though, the two “divas" haven’t worked together in any other capacity.
1 Lil’ Kim
Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj have had beef ever since Nicki Minaj posed for a promo shot that resembled a picture Lil’ Kim took back in the 90s. Both female rappers got male musicians involved amidst their beef. Lil’ Kim got Ray J to take her side while Nicki Minaj got Drake to take her side. They continued to fire shots against each other via rap music and to this day, it is obvious that they are still not cool with each other.
