When it comes to the world of reality television, there is an array of selection, however, it appears as if there is some competition happening in La La Land. Netflix recently released their newest show, "Selling Sunset", which follows the ladies of The Oppenheim Group as they sell some of the most luxe homes in Los Angeles. Sounds familiar? That's because it's a complete replica of "Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles".

While Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing" has been on-air for 12 seasons now, it seems as if they have paved the way for similar. Despite the ladies of  "Selling Sunset" appearing to sell home after home, it seems as if it can all be a complete lie! Considering reality television is known to sometimes be scripted, it's very much possible that the show may not be as real as we think, and the "Million Dollar Listing" cast thinks so too!

Is "Selling Sunset" Real?

Netflix's newest release, "Selling Sunset" follows the lives of Chrishell, Davina, Christine, Mary, Heather, and Maya, and their journey to selling some of the hottest and most expensive homes in Los Angeles. The ladies of "Sunset" all work at The Oppenheim Group under brokers, Jason and Brett Oppenheim, where they represent millions of dollars worth of California real estate, however, is what viewers are watching at all true?

The show was created and produced by MTV icon, Adam DiVello, who also created " The Hills" and "The City", so it was only fitting for "Selling Sunset" to have the same type of vibe when it comes to its style and editing, however, have they also been following the formula of turning reality shows into scripted television? There's one show that thinks so! Similarly to "Selling Sunset", BRavo's "Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles", which has been on the air for 12 seasons now, doesn't think this show is at all real.

The cast of "Million Dollar Listing" paid a visit to "WWHL with Andy Cohen" to share news of their current season, however, Andy couldn't not ask these real estate moguls what they thought about Netflix's new show. Cast members James, David, Altman, Josh, and Tracy could not contain their laughter after being asked about "Selling Sunset" and what they had to say after was quite shocking.

Tracy Tutor, one of the hardest working women in real estate, claims that the Netflix show "isn't really about selling real estate. It's about dating bachelors in the Hollywood Hills". Yikes! It didn't stop there though. Fellow castmate, Josh Flagg also had a bit to say about "Selling Sunset". Flagg, who has been a series regular on the hit Bravo show for its entire run has never seen any of the "Sunset" ladies before.

"I've never seen any of those people at a listing or brokers open, ever", Josh Flagg said. The entire cast appeared to agree with both Tracy and Josh's claims regarding the women on "Selling Sunset", so chances of them being true listing agents in a market as competitive as Los Angeles real estate is quite slim! The "Million Dollar Listing" cast did reveal that they do know Jason and Brett Oppenheim, however, when it comes to the show's main cast, it isn't looking too hot. The third season of "Selling Sunset" is set to premiere on August 7, 2020, and we're ready to see these ladies sell homes, or not.
