During the aforementioned interview, Karen E. Laine spoke about how things went when her daughter Mina and her son-in-law Stephen first became a couple. According to Laine, things seemed great when she first met her son-in-law Stephen but despite her first impression, things quickly soured. "But then there was a second impression that was not so good."

That said, based on how Laine described things in the aforementioned interview with her daughter in the room, it seems clear that Stephen betrayed Mina in some extremely serious way.
"They broke up for a while because he behaved really badly—in a phenomenally bad way." After hinting at how bad things once were, Karen E. Laine began to describe what she told her future son-in-law once Mina took Stephen back. "When they decided to get back together, the only thing I said to him was 'Don't ever hurt her again because you'll have me.'" In the middle of Laine speaking, Mina interrupted to finish her mom’s thought. “and me. And he believes both of us.” Finally, Laine spoke on the subject one last time to jokingly state that if Stephen steps out of line again, the consequences would be dire for him. "We know how to hide a body. It's just that simple."
Are Mina Starsiak Hawk And Stephen Hawk Happy Together Now?
On top of the fact that Mina Starsiak Hawk And Stephen Hawk’s relationship went through a very rocky patch, it is known that their first meeting didn’t go well either. After all, Mina has revealed that after Mina found Stephen’s profile on Facebook and found him “stunningly handsome”. The duo met in person.
