Shows like Modern Family don’t come around often. Modern Family is one of those TV shows that makes viewers feel warm and happy inside. The first episode aired on September 23, 2009, and the final episode aired on April 8, 2020. Eleven seasons of this show don’t seem to be enough but that is what we were able to get and we are still grateful for it! Modern Family stars actors like Sofía Vergara, Sarah Hyland, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, and Ariel Winter. This cast of actors is what made the show as amazing as it turned out to be.

Every episode of Modern Family seems to be funnier than the last and regardless of the subject matter, each episode was always filled with a lot of heartfelt moments. Modern Family is a great show that will be heavily missed. There are lots of other "family" shows airing right now and plenty more that are to come but none of them will fill the void that Modern Family created! The show is just way too hilarious, warming, relatable, heartfelt, and everything else.

12 Joe Pritchett– The Youngest Family Member

When it comes to annoying family members, Joe Pritchett would definitely have to be at the top of our list. He might be the youngest but there isn’t a lot that we have to say about him! If he was older and had better storylines, this might be different.

11 Alex Dunphy– The Brainy Genius Who Fits The Nerd Stereotype

Alex Dunphy is one of Claire and Phil’s daughters. She is a brainy genius and she definitely fits into the stereotype of what it takes to be a total nerd. She sometimes comes off as a know it all but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t also an amazing character from Modern Family. Ariel Winter is the gorgeous actress behind this role and that makes her character so much cooler in our opinion!

10 Jay Pritchett– The Father To All Who Had To Learn To Be Nicer

Jay Pritchett is a father figure to all and over the course of the many seasons of the show, he learned what it took to become a nicer person to those around him. He was once a little rougher on the edges but over time, he seemed to start softening things up and treating his loved ones more gently.

9 Mitchell Pritchett– The Perfectionist With High Energy

Yes, Mitchell Pritchett is lovable but there are also times when he can be kind of annoying. Here is a perfectionist with high levels of energy and oftentimes, he could use a chill pill! If he relaxed and slowed down every now and then, it would make him a lot more likable of a character. He is very detail-oriented which can be a good thing when it comes to decorating a home but it can be annoying in other areas of life.

8 Manny Delgado– Funny But Sometimes Pretentious

Manny Delgado is super funny and obviously very lovable, but sometimes he can be pretentious! There are plenty of scenes where he showcases his pretentious aside and to be honest, that’s not really the most endearing or likable character trait for a person to have, even on a TV show!

7 Lily Tucker-Pritchett– The Sassy Sweetheart

Lily is the daughter of Cameron and Mitchell and we definitely see her as lovable because she is a super sassy sweetheart. She started things out on the show as a youngster and we were able to watch her slowly grow up right before our eyes. Her sassy personality is equally sweet.

6 Luke Dunphy– Inherently Lovable Despite Occasional Airheadedness

Luke Dunphy is inherently lovable despite the fact that he can occasionally be very airheaded. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but that doesn’t take away from the fact that fans of the show think that he is super endearing.

5 Haley Dunphy– The Character Who Underwent Incredible Personal Growth

Haley Dunphy is one Modern Family character who experienced quite a bit of personal growth throughout the seasons of the show. She changed a lot! More than that, she changed for the better. We watched her grow up and become a more mature young adult in comparison to how she was as a teenager.

4 Gloria Delgado-Pritchett– Amazingly Over The Top Personality

Gloria might be over the top with her antics and actions, but for the most part, we totally love her. It is easy to obsess over her character because she is played none other than Sofia Vergara. Sofia Vergara is one of the highest-paid TV actresses and it is because she is so loveable. TV actresses like Sofia Vergara that can easily star in major films as well don't come around very often!

3 Claire Dunphy– The Incredible Mother Who Goes All In

Claire Dunphy is an incredible mother who goes all-in when it comes to being a parent. She is there for her kids in plenty of ways. The biggest way is the fact that she supports and encourages her family members with whatever it is that they care about in their individual lives. Claire Dunphy is super loving and thoughtful... she is the type of mom that kids wish they had! She knows how to discipline without being too harsh or critical.

2 Cam Tucker– Wildly Theatrical And Passionate

Cam is at the top of our list for being one of the most lovable Modern Family characters because he takes everything to another level of hilarity. Everything he does is so “extra“ for lack of better words. He is a great father, brother, and husband. He reminds us of what family is really about!

1 Phil Dunphy– The Dad We All Wish We Had

Most people consider Phil Dunphy the most lovable character on Modern Family. The reason we think this is because anyone would be lucky to have Phil Dunphy as the head of the household. He is super hilarious, he’s a great dad, he’s a great husband, and he is super optimistic.
