The character he played was named Chip Skylark, a ditzy and airheaded singer that girls pine after. The reason this is awkward is that Chris Kirkpatrick is basically playing into the fact that who he is as a singer in real life (as part of NSYNC back in the day) comes off as ditzy and airheaded... just like Chip Skylark.
