'Big Bang Theory' became a massive hit and in addition, the cast became filthy rich. However, like any other show, there was some controversy, especially for certain episodes. Chuck Lorre knows a thing or two about the controversy, especially with his past alongside the likes of Charlie Sheen.

Hardcore fans of the show leave no stone unturned, which includes plotholes from the show, along with certain moments that were downright hard to watch. According to fans on Reddit, there are more than a few moments to choose from, looking back, perhaps the sitcom would've taken a different road and avoided these episodes and troubling scenes altogether.

But hey, let's keep in mind, no show is perfect, especially one that ran for so long.

'Big Bang Theory' Had A Few Questionable Episodes

'Big Bang Theory' ran over a decade, from the fall of 2007 all the way up until May of 2019. Given its 12 seasons and 279 episodes, things were bound to get weird and go south at least a few times, like several other popular sitcoms.

Seriously, can we imagine Chuck Lorre's 'Two and a Half Men' finding the same type of success today, without rubbing viewers the wrong way... probably not... Nonetheless, according to fans on Reddit, certain episodes were downright hard to watch.

In particular, fans weren't impressed with the indirect shots taken at the trans community throughout the show's run. One of the fans on Reddit discussed several examples that took place.

"When Stuart was talking to Leonard about his terrible date with Penny, he said being called by Leonard’s name was better than hearing, “You know I’m a dude, right?”

''Howard admitting that he was once mugged by a transsexual prostitute and that date didn’t even appear in his 10 worst dates of all time. The “prostitute” part of the joke wasn’t intended as the zinger; the “transsexual” part was.''

Debbie kidnapping Raj, some of Sheldon's special needs jokes, and Stuart and Debbie's odd relationship were among some of the other hard-to-watch moments, according to fans on Reddit.

However, when it comes to the most embarrassing storyline, this one might take the cake.

Penny's 'Teddy Bear' Comment Was Hard To Watch

Let's be honest here, watching Howard during the earlier seasons wasn't all that easy, especially when it came to some of his creepy comments.

According to Reddit fans, one specific moment might've been the most embarrassing of the entire series. It all went down when Howard went over to Penny's, asking for help, after a certain 'World of Warcraft' incident which angered Bernadette. However, the conversation took a twist when Penny revealed that Howard once gifted a teddy bear with a webcam inside... yikes.

Fans on YouTube would agree, Chuck Lorre and the show might've taken Howard's creepiness a little too far, to the point of stalking which is no laughing matter.

"Gotta be honest, they went way overboard with Howard's creepiness and perversion. Gifting someone a teddy with a webcam can easily send you to jail.''

"This is just not realistic, if I found a webcam from a teddy bear I've been given by a guy I'd be kicking him in the nuts not letting him into my apartment.''

"Ok Howard crossed the line with the teddy bear thing...even the audience just gasped instead of laughing.''

Without a doubt, the show might want to erase the comment from the archives.

Nonetheless, Chuck Lorre is known for pushing the envelope, and that includes his current work as well.

Creator Chuck Lorre Continues To Face Backlash

Chuck Lorre is all over TV, however, he faced backlash for his show 'United States of Al'. Fans were not too pleased that Afghan-born actor was not chosen for the role, ''There are many issues with United States of Al - but one of the most glaring is not casting an Afghan actor to play the starring role of the translator from Afghanistan. Hollywood has long mocked/demonized Muslims without even casting Muslims to play the role.''

"Please don't fall for this utter bullshit. We're supposed to believe that "after a sweeping global search," they not only could NOT find an Afghan actor, but somehow magically landed on a series regular from a previous Chuck Lorre sitcom on CBS?"

Not the first time nor will it be the last time Chuck Lorre is under fire for what he puts out on the small screen.
