7 David Bromstad Started Out Working With Disney

While David was born to average parents in Minnesota, the star had been creating art since he was a child. After completing high school, he moved on to the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota. The institution was particularly known for its grooming of individuals who are looking to be part of Disney's design team.

Upon his graduation, he began his career at Disney as an illustrator. With Disney being a very lare corporation, David probably earned a substantial amount from his work there. This is no mere assumption, because the star founded his company almost immediately after leaving Disney. To date, he believes that Disney helped in shaping his career, and to prove how much he loved the company, he's got tattoos of certain Disney characters.

After working with Disney for a few years, the star moved on to start his own business, Bromstad Studio. The company was a general in the service and sales of arts and illustration however, it also specialized in fantasy designs for kids' bedrooms. 5 HGTV's 'Design Star' Reality TV Show

After a few years of running his company, a friend of David Bromstad's convinced him to move to Miami Beach, with the reason being to expore other opportunities that his creative talents could afford him. While in Miami, he participated in a reality TV competition called Design Star by HGTV in 2006. The main prize to be won on the reality show was an opportunity to host a program on the network. David competed against nine other people for weeks before finally emerging as the lucky winner, and not only did he win the grand prize of a hosting a show, but he also won a car. There were no specific figures stated at the time of winning but the new job came with a chunk of money.

4 More Gigs And Recognition For David Bromstad

Apart from the prizes he won from Design Star, David also earned major recognition from his time on the show. It all started with him being a guest on the second season of HGTV’s Design Star. Shortly after, he was included in Out Magazine's 100 list, along with other A-list artists including Julianne Moore and Ricky Martin. He also landed an avenue to show off his interior decor talents to people through his home accessories and furniture line brand.

3 David Bromstad Became The Host Of His Own Show

After winning the competition and signing a few contracts, David officially became the host of his show, Color Splash on HGTV. The position opened several other doors for the star including landing another hosting gig on the network for the show My Lottery Dream Home. The show featured competitions and after the winner emerges, David helps them find their dream real estate property. Given his experience in the field as a professional interior decorator, this was pretty easy for him. The job is also responsible for a large part of his $4 million net worth. He reportedly earns an average salary that sits around $500,000.

2 David Has Yet To Find His Dream Home

Seems ironic that someone who helps other people obtain their dream real estate property from his show would be yet to find his; that is David's case. However, according to the star, he plans to find the perfect house for himself and until then he is happy with his Orlando apartment. In an interview, he stated “I’m so busy finding everyone their dream home, I’m neglecting my own,” He further added that one of the other reasons is that he is always on the road and will eventually get it when he's ready.

Becoming a star meant that he had influencing power and this power has made him significantly richer.
