6 This Is Not Hill And Nas' First Collaboration

The pair's "Nobody" is a recreation of their long-time collaboration on 1996's "If I Ruled The World." At the time, Hill and Nas gained public attention. "If I Ruled the World" carried a thought-provoking message that mirrored the excesses of marginalized societies and political issues. The song peaked at No. 53 on Billboard Hot 100. It was also nominated in the category of Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1997 Grammy Awards. Nas and Hill also collaborated on his 2005 song, It Wasn't You.

5 They Were Once Label Mates

Back in the 90s, Hill and Nas worked as label mates under Columbia Records. Nas was a solo artist, while Hill was a member of the music group Fugees, which included Wyclef and Pras Michael. The Fugees released their first album, "Blunted on Reality," in 1994. Their second album, The Score, stamped the Fugees fame more. Nas, on the other hand, got recognition for If I Ruled the World, which was the lead single in his "It Was Written Album."

4 Hill Goes Solo

Once speaking with Rolling Stone, Hill shared that she decided to withdraw from the music scene over twenty years ago because of some reason. Hills shared that the way she broke boundaries of convention left her treated like an intruder. Hill shared that despite the success of her album, she did not feel the support. She shared: "When I saw people struggle to appreciate what that took, I had to pull back and make sure I and my family were safe and good. I'm still doing that."

1 She Had a Brief Return

Besides her internet-breaking return with Nas, Hills came back to the music scene in the early 2000s. This was three years after her 1998 mega success. She collaborated with MTV Unplugged and worked to put out an acoustic album that went platinum without fuss. Nas, on the other hand, has redefined his tap game, going on a rap battle with Jay-Z. His album, Stillmatic, released in 2001, got him more recognition. In all, Hill's back and forth in the spotlight with stage performances have given her credence.
