After splitting up from Perry Reeves, Nathan Fillion allegedly began dating friend and co-star, Felicia Day in 2009. As time passed, Nathan found himself in a number of relationships, however, his most serious after Reeves was with Mikaela Hoover. They first began dating in 2013 and were engaged to be married that same year. This marked Nathan's second time proposing, so surely it would work out this time around. The two had appeared on major red carpets and attended just about every event together, leading many to believe this was true love.

Despite seeming happy with one another, the couple broke up only 2 months after their engagement, sparking a lot of questions as to why Fillion could never make it down the aisle.

After his first engagement to Vanessa Marcil fizzled, fans were certain he had found "the one" with Mikaela, but alas, Nathan had no luck, leading many to believe he is stuck with an engagement curse of sorts.
