The Botched doctors make correcting botched surgeries look like child's play, however, even they acknowledge how risky some of the surgeries are. Dr. Dubrow told Too Fab in part, "You know how we always say in previous seasons that there's a 50% we can make you worse, 50% we could have a complication?"

12 There Are Reportedly Thousands Of Applicants Each Season

In their quest for perfection, many have fallen victim to botched surgeries and Dr. Nassif and Dr. Dubrow may be their last option. According to Allure, season 2 of Botched had 6,000 applicants but only 46 made it on the show. That only points out the toxicity of unrealistic standards of beauty.

11 The First Season Only Had Eight Episodes

When Botched premiered in 2014, E! was testing the waters and only approved eight episodes. The uncertainty of how viewers would respond to the sometimes gory content had producers skeptical. The network wasn't particularly excited about being attached to the extreme surgical show, but by the second season Botched was already a hit.

Have you ever wondered whether the patients were paid to appear on Botched? In an interview with Allure, Dr. Dubrow revealed that E! pays the patients an appearance fee and part of that goes towards doctor's fees. Dr. Dubrow said in part, "We have to get paid to do the surgery. "

Dr. Dubrow wasn't always on board when approached with the idea of Botched and with good reason– his career is riding on the outcome of the surgeries performed with cameras rolling. Dubrow revealed to The Daily Beast, saying in part, "As a plastic surgeon, you’re not judged by the before vs. after. You’re judged just by the after."

5 A Former Patient Filed A Lawsuit Against Dr. Paul Nassif

In Dr. Paul Nassif's line of work, lawsuits come with the territory as there is no guarantee that the result of the surgery performed will be exactly what the patient wanted. According to Daily Mail, a former patient sued Nassif, claiming the doctor performed a nose job that left the patient unable to blink.

4 Some Stories Are Aired As Cautionary Tales

Not all patients on Botched receive corrective surgeries– some are on the show to prevent viewers from making the mistakes they did. "There are a lot of cases on the show where we bring in people and say, 'That’s not fixable, but let’s air their stories as a cautionary tale.'" Dr. Dubrow revealed.

According to The London Post, Oli London spent $100,00 to look like multi-award-winning K-Pop artist, BTS' Park Jimin.
