Nene Leakes has recieved criticism after revealing her husband Gregg Leakes is dying at her establishment Linnethia Lounge.

On Saturday night, the 53-year-old shared the news with patrons at her Atlanta club that her 66-year-old husband "is transitioning to the other side" amid his ongoing cancer battle.

The admission came after Linnethia Lounge customers called the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star rude for not wishing someone a happy birthday.

The business owner spoke on a microphone to address the crowd about the serious matter.

"My husband is transitioning to the other side," she said in a video shared by online.

Turning to speak directly with the group that criticized her, she said, "You don’t know what we're dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business."

She continued, "So, when people approach and say 'you're rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday' — my husband is at home dying. I don't want to say 'happy birthday.'"

The woman who recorded the video could be heard sympathizing with Leakes as she spoke.

Earlier in the night the mother-of-two mustered up a smile, appearing to be in good spirits as she danced with actor and TV personality Kendall Kyndall.

On August 15 and 17 the star shared smiling images to social media as she promoted her popular club.

But her brave smile caused some unsympathetic social media commentators to wonder why Nene was in the lounge while her husband was sick.

"I couldn’t be out if that was me. God bless her family," one person wrote online.

The comment caused a wave of anger - with many more people coming to the reality star's defense.

"Y’all so damn aggy! This lady just clear as day said WE HAVE TO BE HERE BECAUSE ITS OUR BUSINESS (meaning she had to handle her BUSINESS) it’s her lounge! Why are y’all like this????" a comment read.

"Everybody saying why she at the club like she there for fun, that's her business she got to get her money to take care of her man that's sick, it ain't like she on real housewives no more," a second added.
