While some might be surprised January 19 hasn’t been made into a national holiday yet, the streamer has celebrated the country singer and all-round icon with a sweet video.

Netflix Marks Dolly Parton’s Birthday With The Most Dolly Parton-y Video Ever

“Happy Birthday Dolly Parton — a true icon who has spent her life inspiring generations with her music and her actions. So the next time you’re feeling low, ask yourself: What Would Dolly Do?” Netflix wrote on Twitter.

The tweet captioned a video of the Tennesseean sharing empowering messages with her fans.

“You are enough and anyone who tells you otherwise isn’t worth your time,” Dolly says to the camera.

The clip is a pure pep talk by Dolly herself, in case you need a little pick-me-up today.

“Other people didn’t always believe in me, and in those time I had to believe in myself,” Parton adds.

“Plus, nothing’s better than proving people wrong,” the singer also says.

Dolly Parton Plays A Literal Angel In 'Christmas On The Square’

The video was part of the promotional campaign for Netflix Original Series Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, inspired by Dolly’s most famous songs. The series premiered in November 2019 and consists of one season of eight episodes, each titled after one of Dolly’s hits.

The singer also starred and produced in Netflix holiday movie, Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square. In the film directed by Grey’s Anatomy star Debbie Allen, Parton plays an angel trying to steer protagonist Regina Fuller in the right direction. The movie also features Christine Baranski in the role of Regina and Jeanine Mason in that of angel in training, Felicity.

Parton wrote all the songs featured in the musical. Two of them, Christmas Is and Christmas on the Square, are included in her Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas.
