Netflix has blessed followers with two first-look images of a horned Jason Momoa in character for the upcoming movie Slumberland.

Set to be released next year, the fantasy film directed by Francis Lawrence stars the Game of Thrones alum in an undisclosed role. Judging by the first pictures of Momoa in the role, the character seems to be one of the young protagonist’s helpers.

Slumberland sees Marlow Barkley as a young girl navigating the dream world of Slumberland. As she looks for a way to connect with her late father, the protagonist will be helped by an “eccentric outlaw,” a description that perfectly fits the look of Momoa in these BTS snaps.

Netflix Introduces A Horned Jason Momoa On Upcoming Fantasy ‘Slumberland’

“No, you’re not dreaming—that’s Jason Momoa with a full set of horns,” NetflixFilm tweeted yesterday (April 5).

“Here's a sneak peek behind the scenes at SLUMBERLAND, a new adventure story about an eccentric outlaw (Momoa) who guides a young hero (Marlow Barkley) through a secret dreamworld,” the tweet also reads.

A purple suit and a majestic set of horns, Momoa is pictured with Barkley across a green screen, which doesn’t give much away as to what viewers should expect.

Slumberland is based on the comic series book Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay. Alongside Momoa and Barkley, the film also stars Kyle Chandler, Chris O’Dowd, Weruche Opia, and India de Beaufort.

Principal photography for the movie is currently taking place in Toronto and is set to continue till the summer. Filming was originally supposed to start last year but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
