Spoiler Alter: if you haven't seen Endgame

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow dons the white suit from the comics in a new poster shared by Marvel!

Ever since the character sacrificed her life to retrieve the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame, fans have waited in anticipation to see Natasha Romanoff in her own standalone film!

Natasha’s years of ruthless effectiveness as an assassin have earned her the code-name “Black Widow”, and the film is expected to reveal more about her past. The film appears to have borrowed inspiration from Marvel’s 2010 comic-book, Black Widow: Deadly Origin series, because Natasha has earned herself a super cool-looking suit!

The Origin Of Natasha Romanoff's White Suit

Since the superhero was first introduced to the MCU in 2010, Natasha Romanoff has worn a rather large, ever-changing variations of her traditional black suit. This is the first time fans will have the opportunity to see her in a different avatar, and they’re looking forward to it!

As the trailer has revealed, Black Widow’s new, all-white costume is intended to help her blend into her surroundings. Romanoff is seen fighting the bad guys on an unknown mission set against a very snowy landscape, where her usual suit would've made made the superhero's appearance a lot more prominent.

In the comics, Black Widow was sent across the globe to fight the Icepick Protocols, a villainous organization that was designed to kill her and everyone she cared about.

When the super-spy battled her enemy in snowy Russia, Natasha was forced to replace her old suit for a new white one, in an attempt to remain inconspicuous.

Whether the movie will follow on this plot line is unknown, but Natasha's adventures in Eastern Europe and Russia will introduce a whole new bunch of characters from her past life. Florence Pugh plays Yelena Belova, the second character to take the "Black Widow" name.

Stranger Things star David Harbour portrays the Red Guardian, aka Russia's answer to Captain America...and Natasha's ex-husband. The film will focus on her history as an assassin and a spy, and the relationships she had before.
