The actor requested Marvel to let him wear one of Chris Evans' old suits!

Chris Evans will always be our Captain America. That being said, Wyatt Russell's role on the Falcon and the Winter Soldier as the new Captain America has made the character one of MCU's most hated ones...since Thanos.

John Walker was introduced in the closing moments of the first episode of the Disney+ series, and Marvel fans were disappointed to see him take on the superhero's identity which Sam Wilson rightly deserved.

To make things worse, Walker is now the owner of Steve Rogers' iconic vibranium shield, which was handed over to Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Wyatt Russell Hoped To Wear Chris Evans' Captain America Suit

Russell joined host Jimmy Kimmel to discuss his new role in the MCU, and confessed to asking Marvel if he could wear one of Chris Evans' old suits in the show.

When the talkshow host asked Russell if he was given a brand-new suit for the series, he replied: "It's funny, I requested a Chris Evans old suit so I could really feel like I was doing a good job, because he did such a great job."

"Then they gave me a new one!" he added.

The actor shared he was aware of the backlash the series would receive for recasting Captain America. Discussing his experience of wearing the suit for the first time, Russell said "Oh god, take it off. You got the wrong guy, send me back, you're going to lose so much money."

Russell's prediction for the show's fate didn't come true because Falcon and the Winter Soldier has surpassed WandaVision in terms of viewership!

Kimmel joked about Russell being Star-Lord's step-brother, since his father, Kurt Russell portrayed Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The actor also revealed he didn't grow up with comic-books, and was always asking questions on set about certain characters and how things fit in, before Sebastian Stan (who plays Bucky Barnes) asked him to "stop asking questions" since he was "getting confused".

His character John Walker, is the second Super-Patriot character in the Marvel comic-books and was later redesigned as a U.S. Agent. With Bucky and Sam eventually stealing Cap's shield from Walker, it's hard to imagine how long he will enjoy his superhero appearance.
