Researchers Seeking Participants To Eat Avocados & Get Paid For It

Calling all lovers of everything avocado! If you love your avocado on toast, in a smoothie or just plain, then this job listing is for you. As most avocado enthusiasts know, this luscious fruit is not cheap. You are lucky to find a place that offers you guac for free.

Well, look no further, at least, look no further for six months. Researchers from Penn State, Loma Linda University, Tufts University and the University of California, Los Angeles, are looking to pay you to eat avocados every day for six consecutive months.

Dubbed “The Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial,” researchers from all four campuses are looking for 1,000 participants (at 250 participants per campus) to study whether avocados can help with weight loss.

The study subjects will be split into two: One group will be fed an avocado a day for six months while the other will eat two avocados per month for the same duration.

Not only will they be provided with free avocados during the study, but you will also be compensated $300 and 24 avocados to enjoy as you please after.

Recently, avocados have seen a surge in the health world. Thanks to their amazing health benefits, such as their healthy fats, they have become a force to be reckoned with. They are also said to promote satiety, which is believed to help you curb cravings and feel fuller longer.

According to Fox News, in a previous study published in the journal of the American Heart Association, avocados were found to aid in lowering blood pressure when replacing saturated fats.

Once the data is collected from the study, Wake Forest University will conduct the final analysis. From there, they will send the results over to Loma Linda University.

If you think you have what it takes to participate, there are a few requirements. You must be at least 25 years old. For a man, you must measure a minimum of 35 inches around the waist, woman 40 inches around the waist. You will also need to get MRI scans, attend health screenings and meet with a dietician monthly.

The millennial wave of avocado has led us to the future now; a future where avocado reigns supreme. Will you be signing up for this avocado trial?
