ASAP Rocky remains under investigation following his surprise arrest at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this month. But new video footage isn’t looking promising for the rapper, who’s been accused of assaulting an unidentified man with a handgun.According to TMZ, the Los Angeles police department has a video clip that shows the incident, which the publication notes is likely from security footage. The quality of the video is unknown. But if it’s clear enough, it could be all it takes to find the rapper guilty of the alleged assault.Last week, Rocky was taken into custody after flying into LAX following a vacation in Barbados with his pregnant girlfriend Rihanna. He was subsequently charged with assault with a deadly weapon.The alleged assault took place last November in Hollywood near Vista Del Mar and Selma Avenue. The victim claims Rocky approached him along with two other men before taking out a handgun. Rocky reportedly fired multiple shots, one of which grazed and injured the victim’s hands. Police later recovered shell casings from the crime scene.
Rocky’s Guns Weren’t Used In The Crime
The shell casings have informed authorities what type of gun was used in the assault. But so far, they’ve been unable to locate the weapon.
Although the police seized Rocky’s gun collection to perform ballistic testing, it’s since been confirmed that none of them were a match. All of Rocky’s weapons had been legally purchased and were fully registered.
While Rocky is still facing charges, he’s a free man for the time being. The rapper posted a $500,000 bail and was released from jail the same day as his arrest.
Even though the couple have been plagued by rumors of infidelity and a break-up, Rocky has been seen spending time with Rihanna since his arrest. The couple even managed to throw a rave-themed baby shower in anticipation of the birth of their first child. The couple threw the bash in Hollywood but flew out some of Rihanna’s loved ones from her native Barbados.
“They flew out some family and friends from Barbados,” a source told Entertainment Tonight, adding the event was “very intimate.” They continued, "Rihanna didn’t want a shower for just the ladies, they’re in this together, it was always going to be a joint celebration.”
Notorious for maintaining their privacy, the parents-to-be wouldn’t let guests record videos or take photos. But guests didn’t go home empty-handed. Shirts with the saying "I Went To Rih & Rocky’s Rave Shower And All I Got Was This Amazing Shirt,” and featuring childhood photos of the couple have since circulated online.
