When it comes to siblings, there's a natural order of how things are supposed to go. When you're little, you get along famously. Then you get your own personalities, and bickering becomes the new norm. But what about when you're all grown up and reality sometimes bites?

Most of the time, it's natural to assume your siblings will always be there for you, especially when you need them most. And for Paris Hilton and her sister, Nicky, that seems to be the exactly case.

In a recent episode of Sibling Revelry, a podcast hosted by Kate Hudson and her older brother Oliver, the Hilton Hotel heiresses sat down to talk about the situations that Paris was forced to deal with as a young woman, and just how important Nicky's support has been for her recovery.

After watching This is Paris, the documentary about Paris Hilton's life, which focused on the trauma she suffered in her early years; both Hudson siblings had lots of questions about her recovery and how life was treating her in 2020.

The short clip, which was posted to Kate Hudson's Instagram, featured Hudson talking to Paris.

"Being dragged out of your room in the middle of the night, that's not going to boarding school. I mean, that's really traumatizing. No wonder you've had nightmares about it your whole life."

Oliver cuts in to ask, "By the way, how are those nightmares now?"

"I don't have them anymore, but I used to have them literally every single night as a teenager," Paris replies.

At the end of the clip, Nicky Hilton chimes in with, "A weight off your shoulders," and it's a clear, concise message that as Paris' sister, she completely understands and validates where her older sister is coming from and what she experienced.

The Hilton sisters shot into stardom in the early 2000's when Paris starred in The Simple Life with best friend Nichole Richie. And even before that she was a socialite, great-granddaughter to Hilton Hotel magnate, Conrad Hilton, she came from money and fame before she probably knew what they were.

Unfortunately, that was the problem. "My mom just wanted me to be a Hilton, and I just wanted to be Paris." Hilton said of her mother, Kathy, in her documentary. This was the source of most of the tension and turmoil in the young woman's life.

Nicky, for her part, explained that this was also the reason that they are so close now - since they were raised by the same mother, there is a deeper understanding there than they could have with anyone else. In her words, "There's no one in the world who knows her better than me."

The film shows the camaraderie between the two sisters, and that's one thing Kate and Oliver touched on in their Instagram post: The need people have to be supported by their siblings, even when there is obvious disagreement or tension.

The full-length documentary touches on everything from Paris' early years to the nightmares of her teen years, to all the things she's accomplished, and even some of her disappointments, in adulthood. It is an inside look at all things Paris Hilton, and it can be found on YouTube for free.
