Nicolas Cage has had an unbelievable career in Hollywood during his decades in the industry. He's been part of huge hits at the box office, released some films that have gone down in infamy, and everything in between. He's also made a fortune, spending large chunks of it on some truly strange things. The man is nothing, if not authentic.

It's not uncommon for actors to not watch their own movies, but Nicolas Cage did catch some people by surprise when he stated that there was a movie of his that he would never watch.

Let's find out which Nicolas Cage movie the actor himself would never turn on.

Nicolas Cage Is A Legend

Nicolas Cage is easily one of the most likable and puzzling movie stars in history. Cage, who comes from the Coppola family tree, has had smash hits, colossal failures, and everything in between during his time in Hollywood. Couple that with some hilarious and bizarre personal life stories, as well as his penchant for giving maximum effort in each role, and you have the makings of one of Hollywood's most infamous stars.

Cage has been in the game since the '80s, and he was able to snag some solid projects early on. Sure, the Coppola name played a part in his early success, but once the cameras were rolling, he still had to prove himself to the world. Eventually, the actor was able to break free from anonymity and be thrust into the spotlight.

During his career, the actor has earned rave reviews for his performances. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards, taking home the win for Best Actor for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas.

Despite the legend status that he currently enjoys thanks to his hit works, Cage has not been immune from misfires during his career.

Nicolas Cage Had Some Misfires

All stars deal with flops, this much is true in entertainment. Nicolas Cage certainly has some infamous releases that do help paint the full picture of his career. Be it critical or commercial failures, these movies will always be attached to Cage and his legacy.

For instance, Zandalee is a '90s Cage flick that has been almost completely lost in time, which says a lot about how it performed critically and commercially.

"How Bad's The Film? So bad that it completely baffles, even though it’s essentially a simple tale of a woman who embarks on an affair with a manipulative tit. How Bad's The Hair? We’re all about the moustache here. So-Bad-It's-Good? Don’t bother. Clearly the best movie beginning with ‘Zan’ is Zanadu . And don’t let anybody tell you otherwise," GamesRadar wrote about that film.

Cage's catalog is replete with hits and misses, but in an interview, he did let it slip that there is one movie of his that he is unlikely to ever watch.

Cage Refuses To Watch 'The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent'

So, which of Nicolas Cage's films will he never see? Turns out, it's none other than The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, a film that hit theaters earlier this year.

When speaking with Collider, Cage was asked to talk up the film, and while he had a lot of positive things to say, he did express why he will never watch the movie.

"Well, I think what I can say about the project is that everybody involved, Tom Gormican, Kevin Etten, Pedro Pascal, everybody came into it with genuine passion and care. Nobody pulled their punches or tried to sweep anything under the rug. Everything was approached with tremendous care," Cage said about the movie.

He continued, explaining why he won't watch it.

"Having said that, I will probably never see the movie myself because the idea of going meta and playing a "surrealistic version of myself" and a "surrealistic version or interpretation of a younger version of myself going head to head," might just be too psychologically invasive for one Nicolas Cage. I can tell you that it came from the right place from all of us, and it has a lot of heart and the movie means well. I know that much," he added.

Honestly, this totally makes sense. Cage had to play multiple, exaggerated versions of himself in the film, and that can't be easy for him to sit through.

The movie itself is quite hilarious at times, so if you haven't checked it out already, but sure to watch it. It'll give you a Nic Cage fix quickly.
