Although Zoey 101 doesn't have the same cultural impact as other 2000s coming-of-age series such as Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana, Jamie Lynn Spears became associated with her high school character Zoey Brooks. Alexa Nikolas And Jamie Lynn Spears Disagree On Where They Stand
Often, when celebrities are feuding, it's clear that both parties are upset about the harsh comments that have been said and they will each share their side of the story. In most cases, both stars will say that they are hurt and that they want the other person to apologize.
In the case of the Alexa Nikolas and Jamie Lynn Spears fight, they seem to be on totally different pages about what's going on, which has led to confusion about what their relationship looks like. While it would be great to hear that the actors were good friends while filming Zoey 101 and have stayed in touch ever since, that's not the case.
Although Jamie Lynn Spears's career since Zoey 101 has involved many other acting roles, this is the show that people continue to associate with her, partly because of the drama between her and Nikolas.
While a source said that Jamie Lynn Spears has been friendly toward Alexa Nikolas and their relationship is positive, that isn't what Nikolas says about the situation.
A source told E! News, "Jamie Lynn reached out to Alexa to make sure that she was included in any future plans for Zoey 101 moving forward and wanted to extend an olive branch. They have been in touch with each other over the past year and a half and moved on from the childhood drama. Jamie Lynn has sent gifts to her newborn and things between the two have been great."
However, the publication noted that Nikolas doesn't want to talk to Spears anymore and called her a "bully." Nikolas made it clear that as far as she was concerned, the relationship was over, and she didn't believe anything that Spears was saying. Nikolas said, "I have no idea what is going on over there with her but I want absolutely nothing to do with it. Typical move for a bully to play the victim card/gaslight others while straight up lying. I responded to her and said, ‘Please do not send me anything and please stop contacting me.'"
It's sad to hear about how upset Nikolas has been about this situation, as Zoey and Nicole become fast friends when they are both students at Pacific Coast Academy and they care about each other. It sounds like the real life story is very different as Nikolas has been hurt by the comments that her former co-star has made.
Alexa Nikolas Didn't Like What Jamie Lynn Spears Wrote In Her Book
Jamie Lynn Spears's memoir Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, And Figuring It All Out was published in January 2022, joining a long list of celebrity memoirs that promise juicy tidbits and new information. Fans are always eager to check out these books and hear interesting behind-the-scenes stories, like Jessica Simpson sharing more details of her highly-publicized relationships with John Mayer and Nick Lachey in Open Book.
It seemed obvious that Jamie Lynn Spears would write about starring on Zoey 101 as a child as this was definitely a big part of her life. But instead of sharing heartwarming tales about the times that she bonded with her co-stars on the set or perhaps saying what the show meant to her, which would have been preferable, she wrote about Nikolas. This led to their feud.
Spears wrote that she was "humiliated and sad" because Nikolas told everyone on the Zoey 101 set that she "smelled bad" and that she was "mean." She also said that she spoke to producers because she was so upset about what was going on. Nikolas has said several times in interviews and also on her Instagram account that these were all lies and that Spears was the one being harsh toward her.
According to E! News, Jamie Lynn Spears wrote in her book that her sister had a conversation with Nikolas on the set of Zoey 101: "Britney told her that she wouldn't keep jobs if she continued to treat people that was. Alexa scurried away from the trailer. After that chat Alexa didn't blatantly bully me, and once season two was in the can, she was dismissed from the show."
Although Nikolas has been clear that nothing that Spears said about her during their time on Zoey 101 was true, she said that this discussion did take place. Nikolas explained that Britney Spears said she was sorry for the way that she treated her and that she wasn't aware of the real situation. The actor explained that she knew that this happened because of the tough relationship between Britney and Jamie Lynn: "She was like eight months pregnant, so she was hormonal too. I remember she was rubbing her belly, while she was yelling. It was very unhinged in a way that felt that someone was manipulating her."
In November 2022, Nikolas posted on Instagram that she was moved by Britney Spears's words and that she cried because they meant so much to her, as she enjoys her music and has been watching her career for a long time.
It doesn't appear that the actors are speaking anymore. In January 2023, Variety reported that Paramount+ is making a Zoey 101 reboot movie called Zoey 102. Jamie Lynn Spears, Jack Salvatore, Abby Wilde, Christopher Massey, Matthew Underwood, Sean Flynn, and Erin Sanders are returning. Nikolas wasn't included in the cast announcement.
