On September 22nd, Rodrigo took time out to discuss her favorite TikTok inspired purchase with GQ. The singer admitted she bought a viral Stanley brand tumbler in lavender and said: “I was like, I need this, it looks like it’s going to change my life ... And it did.” Rodrigo added that she got hooked on "craft soda" in Utah, using the TikTok famous drinking vessel for flavored soda instead of water.

Olivia Rodrigo grew up in Temecula, a city in California which is a part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Rodrigo still lives close to Los Angeles – and in July, PopSugar reported that her "gorgeous house ... stole the spotlight" in a then-recent Vogue profile.

Describing Rodrigo as a "minimalist queen," the article noted she "keeps to a minimalist design aesthetic, with soft touches of color sprinkled throughout."

In an August 2021 episode of the GQ YouTube series "Actually Me", Rodrigo revealed that she recently got her first apartment – and admitted that she still spends a lot of time living with her parents.

"Technically I'm not living with my parents," Rodrigo explained, "I got my first big girl apartment a month or two ago ... But my parents come and stay with me all the time and I'd go stay with them all the time, so I don't know if I'm technically living alone, but I say I am." As you can see, even Rodrigo isn't entirely sure whether she still lives with her parents. While she does have her own home, she still spends much of her time with her mom and dad.

When speaking with The Guardian in May 2021, Olivia Rodrigo called her parents her "BFFs" and said they were proud of her, and would be proud of her whatever she did. She also clearly values her parents and the many lessons they've taught her. In a 2017 video shared by the Disney Channel, Rodrigo said: "My parents, they've taught me how to be kind and respectful, and to always do the right thing."

4 Does Olivia Rodrigo Have Any Siblings?

Olivia Rodrigo is an only child, which explains why her parents can come and stay with her at her new apartment so often – they don't have any other children at home to worry about. Growing up, Rodrigo's household was just her and her parents. However, she has discussed having a close relationship with some of her extended family, such as her great-grandfather, who taught her to cook, and her great-grandmother, who she considers her penpal.

It's not clear how many years of homeschooling Olivia Rodrigo has completed, but in an interview with Glamour in 2020, she called herself "a homeschool kid." She went on to say: "I never had a normal high school experience. I've always been homeschooled because I've been working." It's not entirely clear if Rodrigo meant that she'd been homeschooled throughout high school, or for her entire life.

Either way, it means that growing up she must have spent a lot more time with her parents than most teenagers do.

2 Are Olivia Rodrigo's Parents Involved In Her Music Career?

Rodrigo told The Guardian that while her parents never pressured her, she did feel "pushed to attend auditions." She has also said that her parents forced her to take piano lessons at a young age, something she is now extremely grateful for.

"Playing piano is one of my favorite things to do now, so [I'm] grateful that my parents forced me to do that," Rodrigo said in an interview with MTV UK. Since guiding a young Olivia to play piano when she was nine, her parents have remained involved in her music. Rodrigo says that her mom is the first person to hear all of her new songs – and that she actually used sounds from her own mother's car to record her hit song "Drivers License."
