Many factors can make or break a movie or television series, but one of the most significant mistakes is misjudgment regarding casting. Even if a film or television series has sharp writing and an excellent plot, it falls on the actors and actresses to bring it to life. It's clear to viewers that movies and television series aren't real. However, viewers still want to become so engulfed in a story that they forget this.

Two characters being attractive isn't all that it takes to make a love story believable. Acting is an art form that takes hard work and skill. It isn't always an easy task to convey the intricacies of love on screen. When actors and actresses get it right, they create masterpieces like Titanic. When they get it wrong, they become entries on lists like these.

10 Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Zooey Deschanel: '(500) Days Of Summer' (2009)

Tom, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, chases down his co-worker Summer, played by Zooey Deschanel, who clarifies that she and commitment don't get along. Nonetheless, Tom sees her as the one and refuses to be only friends with benefits. Quite frankly, watching these two together is exhausting. Summer's lack of character development, the characters' lack of genuine intimacy, Tom's neediness, and his juvenile and campy views about love coupled with Summer's detachedness don't make for a decent love story. Plus, while beautiful and blue, Deschanel's eyes seem emotionless and glaze over the entire movie.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, or the Razzies for short, is satirical. It's an award show that honors some of the worst films during a particular year. In 2016, the Razzies dishonored Fifty Shades Of Grey in five categories. Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele, and Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey, won Worst Onscreen Duo. Why? The book excited moviegoers for a steamy and passionate on-screen experience. However, Johnson and Dornan lacked passion. For an erotic film, the two displayed an awkward and cringe-worthy connection.

You would think that the sexiest man alive as rated by People Magazine and the iconic Dream Girls actress would work as a couple on screen, bringing the psychological thriller Obsessed to life. However, the two seemed more like best friends than a couple who genuinely loved each other. Elba's delivery came across as stoic, and Beyoncé' didn't come alive in the film until the fight scene, which is honestly the best part of the movie.

7 Mila Kunis And Wilmer Valderrama: 'That '70s Show' (1998-2006)

One of the best ways to describe this relationship is imagining a guy who finally got out of the friend's zone. However, the relationship doesn't seem genuine or believable. Fez, played by Wilmer Valderrama, had an obsession with Mila Kunis' character Jackie for years. After Jackie rejecting Fez repeatedly, people wrote him off as only a friend, as did Jackie. Plus, Kunis and Valderrama on screen seem to share more of a brother-sister relationship than a romantic one.

Just Wright tells the story of a basketball player who realizes that he should have been with his supportive friend all along instead of chasing another woman who is only physically attractive but doesn't have much in common with him. However, when the relationship between Leslie, played by Queen Latifah, and Scott, played by Common, becomes romantic, it's not as enjoyable to watch as their friendship. Plus, it's "uncommon" to see Common in romantic roles.

5 Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright: 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (2009)'; 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' (2010)

Bonnie Wright has gone on record to say that kissing Daniel Radcliffe was like kissing a brother and felt strange. According to Insider, the actress wasn't aware of a kiss until her friends made her aware. She hadn't gotten that far in the book series. The awkwardness that Wright felt translated on the screen. Wright admitted that it was hard to create intimacy with someone who felt like a brother.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in Gigli

After Gigli, Jennifer Lopez, and Affleck began dating. The world knew them as "Bennifer." Their relationship seemed to put the media in a frenzy, but their characters in Gigli didn't do the same for audiences. Why? Critics mention how the stars too often butcher jokes, give a half-hearted performance during supposed-to-be warm moments, way too often stare off into the camera, and that Lopez's character, Ricki, isn't believable as a tough-talking contract killer.

You would think that a movie marketed around American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and contestant Justin Guarini would be worth the hype. It's safe to say that Clarkson and Guarini were better at singing. Although rumors of the two being a real-life item spread like wildfire at the time, any alleged chemistry between the two appeared to be nonexistent. The musical won a Razzie in 2005 for being the worst musical of the past quarter-century.

If you read F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic book, then you probably had high hopes for this romantic drama. Critics had alternating reviews of the film. t Both DiCaprio and Mulligan were excellent casting choices because of their good looks, poise, elegance, and anything that you would expect of the roaring 20s. However, there was a disconnect, where at times, both the characters seemed empty, emotionless, and like strangers. However, it is hard to recreate the chemistry DiCaprio had with Kate Winslet in The Titanic.

1 Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattison: 'Twilight' (2008)

Once you become older and objectively look at this teenage phenomenon, you'll see its flaws. Many viewers have called out Robert Pattison's character, Edward, for being controlling. Regarding the chemistry between Stewart and Pattison, Stewart's seemingly unchanging facial expressions didn't scream that she was "irrevocably" in love with Edward Cullen. The two overall seemed awkward together, both on-screen and off-screen.
