Once Upon a Time was a hit series that did all the little things right during its peak years on television. It had many twists and turns along the way, and fans simply could not get enough of the show and what it did with its characters.

At one point, Lady Gaga was a star that the series creators wanted in a role on the show. Gaga has since gone on to have success in acting, and Once Upon a Time could have been a cool opportunity early on.

Let's take a look at the creators of Once Upon a Time trying to get Lady Gaga for the show.

'Once Upon A Time' Was A Major Success

In October of 2011, Once Upon a Time made its debut on the small screen, and with a brilliant story focusing on a fresh spin of classic characters and tales, the series was able to become a hit with fans of all ages.

Starring talented performers like Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parilla, and Josh Dallas, Once Upon a Time's ability to weave together fairy tale characters of old in a new light was truly a sight to behold. Some of the concepts for the show were straight up genius, and creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz could not have done a better job with the groundwork they laid for the series.

In total, Once Upon a Time would air for 7 seasons and over 150 episodes, making it a huge success, The show's ending in 2018 brought a proper conclusion to the show that people had been following for years. No, not everyone agreed with some of the decisions that were made along the way, but at the end of the day, no one can take away the impact that this show had on its audience.

The stars of the show were plenty talented in their own right, but Once Upon a Time certainly had its share of guest stars, too.

One of the cool things about popular television shows is that they have a way of bringing in a ton of talent at different points in their career. Some stars are already big, and others are still making a name for themselves. While it was still on the air, Once Upon a Time was able to land some big names for viewers to enjoy.

Early on in the show, the Huntsman certainly made his presence felt, and this character was played by none other than Jamie Dornan, who would go on to star in the 50 Shades series on the big screen. Don't worry, Dornan kept his clothes on for the show.

The MCU's own Sebastian Stan played the Mad Hatter on the series, Lost's Jorge Garcia played the Giant, Lucifer's Tom Ellis played Robin Hood, and the talented Jamie Chung played Mulan on the show.

That is an incredible list of names, and it just goes to show that the people making Once Upon a Time had an eye for taltented performers.

For these performers, being on the show was a major opportunity, but the truth is that not everyone jumped at the chance to be on the show. In fact, Lady Gaga passed on an offer to play a character over a decade ago.

The Show Tried Getting Lady Gaga

Back before the role of the Blue Fairy was filled, the series creators had Lady Gaga in mind for the role. This was long before the entertainer had proven to be an exceptional actress, and she could have been an interesting fit on the show. Emails were sent to Gaga's people, but a reply was never sent.

Even though Gaga did not accept the role, Edward Kitsis maintained that he would still like to see her on the show back in 2011.

"We’d be so happy to have her," he said.

Unfortunately, Lady Gaga never made an appearance on Once Upon a Time, and now that the show has come to an end, the only way we will see this take place is if the show receives a revival or a reboot. Gaga has done well for herself on the big and small screen, and maybe this time around, the folks making Once Upon a Time will be able to get her on board for a gig.
