Liam Payne has been targeted by online haters after he was pictured with his ex Cheryl for the first time in three years.
The sighting comes three weeks after his split from fiancée Maya Henry.
Cruel trolls commented on Liam's appearance in the snaps obtained by Mail Online.
The One Direction hunk reunited with the mother of his four year old son, Bear, to attend a first birthday party for Liam's niece in Wolverhampton on Wednesday.
The former flames split in 2018 after a two and a half year romance, but have remained amicable while co-parenting. The popstars were seen packing away their things in their car while casually conversing with Liam's friends and family on the driveway.
Cheryl, 37, looked stunning in a grey sleeveless hoodie with a lilac maxi skirt and heeled white boots.
Liam, 27, opted for a low-key ensemble in a black Givenchy hoodie and shorts.
Following the release of the pictures, the former One Direction singer was quick to speak out – and joke about the unfavourable snaps.
"Mild attack of hay fever made headlines today. Ah Choo. Living the dream," he wrote alongside two pictures that seemed to show him in a mid sneeze.
He then added: "FFS why am I so awkward..."
But online trolls still mocked the dad of one and made jibes over his appearance.
"Jeez he's fairly piled on the beef," a shady comment read.
"Jesus Christ he’s put some timber on! Unrecognizable," a second ageed.
"Someone has ate all the pies...." a third chimed in.
"Firstly Liam isn't looking very healthy is he?! Secondly what on earth is Cheryl wearing?" a fourth nasty comment read.
However plenty more fans came to Liam's defense.
"I think lockdown has done that to a lot of us! No need to bodyshame," one fan wrote online.
"I think he looks better with a few extra pounds!!!" a second added.
"He is cute as a blonde. I like a guy with some meat on his bones," a third fan addd.
During an interview with Tings magazine last year, Liam admitted he had missed out on seeing his son.
"[Lockdown] it's the longest I haven't seen him [Bear] in his life," the "Stack It Up" singer revealed.
"But we discussed from the start and for different reasons, me and Cheryl decided I should be away for a little bit, it's not unusual for me to be in and out of his life."
"He's a quiet and chill child. He doesn't worry about things too much."
Cheryl and Liam went public with their romance in February 2016 after being spotted together in a supermarket in Guildford, Surrey - welcoming son Bear in March 2017.
