Some of the relationships in Orange is the New Black are the sweetest things ever to see. Other relationships are way more cringe-worthy– relationships that we sort of wish never happened!
Orange is the New Black is definitely one of Netflix’s best original TV shows and they did an incredible job bringing it to life. It is a show that was based on a memoir by a woman named Piper Kerman. She revealed all of the deepest & darkest secrets in her memoir and it ultimately ended up being turned into an amazing TV show that we are very grateful for.
15 Piper And Stella– Stella Ended Up Trying To Scam Piper
The relationship between Piper and Stella is definitely one that we could have done without. At the end of it all, Stella tried to scam Piper out of money and Piper ended up planting contraband all over Stella's bunk, getting Stella stuck with more prison time. Their entire relationship was a problem.
14 Larry And Polly– This Relationship Totally Betrayed Piper
Larry and Polly should have never hooked up. This relationship totally betrayed Piper. She went into prison with Larry as her fiancé and Polly as her best friend. By the time things came to an end, Larry and Polly were totally together, and Larry was raising Polly’s child as if it were his own.
13 Caputo And Linda– They Had Nothing In Common, Especially Not Morals Or Values
Caputo and Linda had no business getting together when they had nothing in common. They truly didn’t have any morals or values in common and that’s one of the most important things that you need in a romantic relationship. She was very selfish and heartless while he actually cared about the inmates.
12 Dayanara And Bennett– He Got Her Pregnant And Then Disappeared
Dayanara and Bennett are another example of two people that should not have gotten together. First of all, he was a guard in the prison and she was an inmate which means that there was already an unfair power dynamic between the two of them. Worst of all, he got a female inmate pregnant and then disappeared.
11 O’Neill And Bell– These Guards Really Didn't Care About The Inmates
O’Neill and Bell were two guards in the prison who didn’t care about the inmates at all. They were heavily involved in the betting games that went down in the prison which is pretty disgusting. The fact that they acted so heartless and nonchalant about the struggles of the inmates made them more unlikable.
10 Pennsatucky And Coates– He Was Beyond Toxic And Controlling
Similar to the relationship between Dayanara and Bennett, the relationship between Pennsatucky and Coates was also wrong because of the unfair power dynamic between the two of them. On top of that, he was beyond toxic and controlling. He lost his temper way too easily and did things that made her feel scared.
9 Big Boo And Linda– This Couple Was Awkward To See
Big Boo and Linda were a decent couple, but they were honestly just very awkward to see. On top of that, Linda tried to deny that they ever had a thing after the fact because she was so embarrassed by it. We aren’t sure if Linda agreed to be in the relationship because she genuinely wanted to or because she wanted protection while she was locked up.
8 Piper And Larry– Their Relationship Fell Apart While She Was Behind Bars
Piper and Larry’s relationship fell apart while she was behind bars! The only reason that they are closer to the top of this list is the fact that they seemed to be truly happy with each other before she got locked up. She had set up a beautiful & exciting life with an awesome future with Larry before she entered prison.
7 Suzanne And Maureen– They Were Both Equally Weird
Suzanne and Maureen were both equally weird and that’s why we think that they are one of the cuter couples from Orange is the New Black. Suzanne was constantly looking for love… She even tried to convince Piper to be her prison wife at the very beginning of the show. That being said, we are glad she found someone right for her.
6 Blanca And Diablo– They Passionately Loved Each Other
Blanca and Diablo passionately loved each other before she was locked up, while she was locked up, and even after the fact when they started dealing with threats of deportation. No matter what, they knew that they wanted to be together by each other side, despite any adversity that they had to go through.
5 Lorna And Nicky– They Were Both Friends And Lovers
Lorna and Nicky were good friends to each other as well as lovers. They were very close and intimately connected from the very beginning of the show. Even after they stopped being intimate with each other, they remained close friends which is a very big deal. They always had each other’s backs.
4 Piper And Alex– They Ended Up Staying Together
Piper and Alex ended up staying together by the time the show came to an end. In the final episode, we discovered that Piper was still in love with Alex and still visiting her in prison as Alex awaited her release date. Their relationship had a lot of ups and downs throughout the show but in the end, they were ultimately meant to be together.
3 Lorna And Vince– He Gave Her The Love Story She Wanted
Lorna and Vince were an awesome relationship in the show because Vince provided her with the love story that she always wanted. She created a fake love story with a man who didn’t really feel the same way about her in her past, but in this situation, she really had a guy who felt passionately in love with her in the same way that she felt for him!
2 Caputo And Figueroa– They Understood Each Other On A Deeper Level
Caputo and Figueroa understood each other and supported each other on a deeper level. He cared about the inmates and although she was often cold and sarcastic, she truly did too. They were able to connect with each other in a way that he would have never been able to connect with Linda because they shared the same morals and values.
1 Poussey And Brook– They Grew Very Close Before Poussey Died
Last but not least, Poussey and Brook were probably one of the cutest couples on Orange is the New Black before Poussey passed away. They were very close and they connected when it came to books. It is very sad that Poussey was killed at such a young age at the hands of a guard, leaving Brook totally alone and heartbroken.
