Singer Chris Brown has posted and deleted an emotional tribute to DeOndra Dixon.
The post sadly confirmed the death of Dixon at the age of 36.
Dixon is the younger sister of Academy and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx. The pair were extremely close and he is yet to confirm the news.
Brown posted a picture of Foxx and Dixon dancing at a fashion show.
"Lost one of my best friends and one of the most beautiful souls I know. REST IN PEACE sis. WE WIL DANCE AGAIN ONE DAY...I LOVE YOU."
Dixon was born with Down Syndrome, with her older brother crediting her with "giving his life perspective."
"I learned how to live. Sometimes we get caught up in our world on the extras of everything — 'Ah, the Mercedes is not the right color!'" he told NBC News correspondent Kate Snow for Dateline. "And then you see this girl over here. 'I just want to live. I want to dance. I want to love.' She brings you back down to what life is."
The pair have lived together in Jamie's 40 acre estate property in Hidden Valley, California since 2002.
"I said, 'You’re going to come here and stay here with me,'" said Foxx, who invited many family members to stay.
"But DeOndra was the main purpose. I didn’t know what she was going to have to do as far as fending for herself and becoming an adult."
Foxx didn't have to worry. As Dixon soon became a star in her own right.
She served as a global ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
Dixon loved to danced and appeared with Foxx on the Grammys stage and in the video for his hit song "Blame It."
In a previous interview with People, Jamie opened up about what it’s like to be an older brother to DeOndra.
Telling the magazine that he absolutely adores spending time with her.
"She’s a superstar now," he gushed.
"One thing people may not understand is that the love a person with special needs gives you is unfiltered. There is nothing in the way of them loving you and there is nothing in the way of them being upset with you either. You really get the true individual."
Foxx is also older brother to Hollywood personal stylist Deidra Dixon.
