Paris Hilton got the fairytale wedding she wanted in 2021 when she married the love of her life, Carter Reum. The couple appears to be the perfect match and is accomplishing their goals together, but it took Hilton some time and several wrong matches before she could end up with Reum.

Hilton’s career has been an interesting one, but her successes are not the only thing the media has taken interest in because her romantic pairings have made multiple headlines. How does her relationship with Reum differ from the rest, and what made her fourth engagement the one to last?

Who Did Paris Hilton Get Engaged To Before Carter Reum?

Some of her more memorable pairings include Nick Carter, Rick Salomon, and Chris Zylka. She has also been engaged several times before. Her first engagement was with Jason Shaw, but they broke up in 2003. Later there was Paris Latsis who proposed, only for the relationship to end a few months later, and the last man to pop the question before she met Carter Reum was actor Chris Zylka, who asked Hilton to marry him in January 2018.

At the time, Hilton and Zylka appeared to be deeply in love, and fans were convinced this was it for her. In 2018, she told Us Weekly, "He's just such a genuine, good man and an amazing, supportive best friend. He's everything, and it's really rare and hard to find — especially in L.A. You can't trust any of these guys. So it's nice to finally find someone that I can really trust." The relationship did not last though, and after pushing back their wedding plans due to "busy schedules" the couple broke up in November 2018.

This led her to find the man she should have ended up with, Carter Reum. The pair are reported to have started dating at the end of 2019, and in February 2021, Paris Hilton was wearing yet another engagement ring. It was not long before they were married in November of that year, and it was a beautiful and sophisticated event held at the former Bel Air estate of her grandfather, Barron Hilton.

This is a destination Paris Hilton told Vogue she had dreamed about getting married in since she was a little girl. But what makes Reum the man she should have ended up with?

What Makes Paris Hilton’s Relationship With Carter Reum So Different?

For starters, they were friends first. Hilton and Reum had known each other for 15 years before they started dating. Speaking of how they first got together, she told Vogue, "We stayed in each other's lives over time, and we reconnected at a Thanksgiving get-together in 2019. From that night, I felt the spark, and the rest is history."

Another reason Reum is the man for Hilton is that he makes her feel special. When he proposed to her, he did it on the beach on a private island, a moment she described as "so romantic!" Her family and friends had also flown out to be a part of the special event, so it's clear Reum had thought of everything and wanted her to be able to celebrate the engagement with all of her loved ones.

Hilton acknowledges that it took her a long time to find the right partner, and when the couple married they were both 40. Reflecting on this, she told Vogue she had wanted to be with someone who she could build a future with and a man "who saw the real me and loved me for me. Someone who is loving and kind. Someone to be a father to my future children." She continued, "I'm so proud of my love story with Carter, and even more excited that it’s just beginning."

Do Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Want The Same Things For Their Future?

Being able to agree on fundamental things and wanting the same outcome in the relationship is essential, and it appears that Hilton and Reum have the same goals for their future. This includes children, and Hilton has been vocal about doing IVF. During her appearance on The Trend Reporter with Mara podcast (via People), Hilton said, "We have been doing the IVF, so I can pick twins if I like." Hilton later updated fans on social media, telling them that they hoped to start their family in 2023.

She also commented on how grateful she was to have a partner who was "so supportive and always makes me feel just like a princess all the time."

This is not the only time that Reum has proven he is willing to support Hilton in all the challenges she faces, and he is reported to have accompanied her when she testified against Provo Canyon School for the alleged emotional, physical, and psychological abuse she endured as a teenager, People reports.

The couple appears to be truly in love and would do anything for each other, and it is clear that Paris Hilton ended up with the right man for her to marry.
