Wheel of Fortune TV host Pat Sajak certainly was made for television, despite starting his career out as a professional DJ. The 74-year-old now has 19 nominations for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host to his name, all while taking home 3 wins!
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Sajak has been on the Wheel of Fortune for 40 years, the longest career of any tv gameshow host. Sajak still has some more time left on primetime tv, as his contract ends in 2022.
It’s pretty clear that Pat Sajak loves the television, and the audience loves him even more. Though, everyone wants to know if Pat Sajak's kids have followed in their father’s footsteps, especially Sajak’s son Patrick Michael James.

Well, despite their desire for privacy, Pat Sajak was thrilled to announce this past Spring that his son, Patrick Michael James, has officially become a doctor! Maggie Sajak also shared the news on her Instagram, posting a photo of her and Patrick celebrating his medical school graduation. As for Maggie, she too is moments away from graduating, as she currently studies law, all while working as a media correspondent at the Wheel Of Fortune.
The Sajak Family Life
There’s much to speculate about Pat Sajak’s family. While everyone may know everything there is about Sajak’s professional life and his rise to fame, we hardly hear anything about the 74-year-old’s personal life.
Sajak has been married twice, first to Sherill Sajak, and then again in 1989 to photographer Lesly Brown. The two welcomed their two children Patrick and Maggie in 1990 and 1995, respectively, and yes, Pat Sajak named his son, after him!
Clearly out of the two children, the youngest decided to pursue a career in front of the cameras while the firstborn went on a different path.
Much of the media attention has been directed at Patrick’s life, whom many have coined “mysterious and luxurious.” The star-child is suspected of having a rather interesting lifestyle, simply given his relation to the Wheel of Fortune game show host.
Though truth be told, we don’t know much about Patrick, however, all that we do know is that his father wanted him to live as normal of a life as possible.
Patrick’s Guest-Star Appearance
Obviously, Pat Sajak is pretty close to his children, even to this day. The proud father of two showers Maggie and Patrick with plenty of love in front of cameras and off-set.
Though, it’s certain that his firstborn loves his old man just as much! Sajak and his son, Patrick, spend plenty of father-son bonding time together. The two have been spotted attending sports games together and even on rare occasions, the red carpet.
Probably the most cherished moment between the father and son was when Patrick and his sister Maggie guest-starred on the Wheel of Fortune. In particular, a video clip shows a young Patrick, dressed in a tux with his hair sleeked back, copying his father on the set on the game show with Maggie taking the spot of co-host, Vanna White.
The clip just has too much cuteness! If Patrick ever did decide to change his mind and work in showbiz like his father, he’d be an instant hit with audiences, and there's no denying that!
Where Is Patrick Sajak Today?
The father-son duo have a lot in common, including their looks! It's clear the 30-year-old has taken on a striking resemblance to his father.
While Pat Sajak isn’t known for offering up information on his home life, his son Patrick took it a step further by being completely falling off the Hollywood radar. Although he keeps his social media accounts private, his younger sis, Maggie, is a little bit more open when it comes to their family life.
Back in May, Maggie shared a photo onto her Instagram embracing big bro, Patrick after he graduated from medical school! Patrick, who made it clear he didn't want to go down the entertainment route, has since earned his MD, and proudly so!
"My big brother officially became a doctor today, and I am the MOST proud. Congrats @patricksajak, MD!!!" she wrote.
Luckily for Pat, success runs in the family! With Patrick becoming a doctor, Maggie is on her way to graduation soon too! The 26-year-old currently studies law, all while working as an online media correspondent on The Wheel Of Fortune.
