The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada became well-known to the world in 2009 when the History Channel made it the feature of a new show called Pawn Stars. The shop, which was opened in 1989 by Richard "Old Man" Harrison and his son Rick, regularly has up to 4,000 visitors per day, which means that weird and wonderful items come in all the time.

Rick's son, Corey, and his slovenly friend, Chumlee, also work behind the counters of the pawnshop and they contribute to most of the comedy on the show.

Pawn Stars is not only entertaining and funny, it can be quite educational too, as the history of each item is often discussed before negotiations. Sometimes the guys even call in experts to appraise their finds before they make an offer.

When the seller of this unusual item first walked into the shop, he was looking to get at least $20,000. But as it turns out, dinosaur eggs aren't as rare as we might think. Corey called in an expert who confirmed that dino eggs usually go for between $300 - $600 per egg.

Back in the day, anyone who needed a blood transfusion couldn't afford to be fussy, even if the equipment looked scary! During season five, Chumlee purchased a barbaric looking 1950's blood transfusion kit for $125 which may seem strange, but there are sure to be collectors looking for antique medical items just like this.

18 Autographed David Hasselhoff Buoy

While most die-hard Baywatch fans are usually on the lookout for Pamela Anderson memorabilia, there must be some David Hasselhoff lovers too. And we're sure they'd just love to add this unusual Pawn Stars item to their collection: a lifebuoy autographed by the Hoff. Rick ended up paying $375 for the buoy.

17 A One-Man Submarine

Some items are too big to make it into the store and this one-man submarine was one of them. The guys went to look at this unusual vehicle in the parking lot and although it needed some attention ,they ended up handing over $3,000 for it. What the seller was doing with a mini-sub in the middle of the desert we'll never know!

16 A Can Of Elephant Waste

When a man entered the store with a specialized carry case in season five, everyone was keen to find out what was inside. But to their surprise, it was just a novelty can of elephant dung. The Old Man wasn't interested, but Chumlee decided to buy it for himself and gave the seller $20.

15 A Grammy Award

Rick was surprised when a seller arrived at the store with a genuine Grammy and he jumped at the chance to buy it. The award, which was issued to Ronald Dunbar & General Johnson for 1970's song, "Patches", was sold for $2,350.00. For the right price, it seems anyone can have a Grammy Award!

14 An Antique Book Of Mormon

Books can be worth big bucks and one of the most expensive books ever to come into the store was worth a cool $40,000. The owner of the valuable 1842 edition of The Book of Mormon was more than happy to accept Rick's offer of $24,000 following the book expert's appraisal.

13 The Wayne's World Car

When Rick found out that the 1976 AMC Pacer used in Wayne's World was for sale, he arranged a road trip to see it. He was so impressed with the car, which is used in the famous "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene, that he offered the seller a cool $9,500 to take it off his hands.

12 A Signed Dr. King Speech

When a seller enters the store with a rare signed copy of a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s anti-war speech, Rick is immediately interested. It's dated 1967, a year before his tragic assassination, which makes the piece even more historically significant. After a short negotiation, the seller walks away with $10,000 for the piece.

11 A Giant Mario Statue

It's not every day that we get to see a giant Mario statue, so gaming fans were delighted when this incredible find made its way into the shop. The seller, who ended up walking away with $500 for the item, claimed that he had won it in a Mario Kart competition.

During the early 2000's, Celebrity Deathmatch was one of the most popular shows on MTV, so when a seller walked into the store with an original Marilyn Manson claymation figure from the show, the guys were definitely interested. However, after the item was appraised by an expert, the seller refused to accept Rick's offer of $500 and left.

9 An Antique Duck Dress

When this strange-looking item entered the store, no one had any idea what it was. The seller explained that it was a French duck press; used to basically squash a cooked duck until all the liquids and fats drained out. This pulverized duck juice would then be used as a sauce. The Old Man wasn't prepared to pay $3,000 for it so the seller ended up taking his duck press home again.

Rick loves to buy jewelry, but he especially loves to find collectible pieces. At one stage, the shop played home to a 2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl ring, which he claims he bought directly from one of the players. The diamond-encrusted ring clearly has a special place in his heart!

7 A Vintage Electroshock Machine

In the season four episode "Weird Science", a woman brings in a device called the Master Violet Ray no. 11. It's a vintage home electroshock kit originally marketed to enhance the hair and skin. And it's still in working condition! She ends up walking away with $75 for this strange piece of history.

But she turned out to be telling the truth, and an expert confirmed that the bell (which once belonged to a ship owned by the Dutch East India Company) was worth $15,000.

The tonsillotome was invented in 1827 and its function was to act as a tiny guillotine for removing a patient's tonsils. The doctor would reach it and simply snip them off, and no, there was no anesthesia at the time! After some haggling, Corey paid $800 for this macabre collectible.

Believe it or not, Rick had the chance to buy the infamous white Bronco van that O.J used as his getaway vehicle, but he turned it down. The seller, who was O.J's agent at the time, wasn't willing to accept less than $1.25 million, which proved a little too much for Rick.
