In an interview with Inked Mag, Pete Davidson revealed that he began getting tattoos to cover up the marks he gave himself because of his depression.

Why Is Pete Davidson Getting Tattoos Removed?

Pete Davidson's tattoos have been such an important part of the star's look that it's certainly very difficult to imagine him without them. During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the comedian opened up about why he decided to start the removal process.

The actor admitted that he doesn't want to have to come to set hours earlier just to sit in a chair and get his tattoos covered. Because Davidson has had plenty of success in his career, it is clear that covering up tattoos with makeup would continue to be a regular part of his workday.

"I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act and I love it a lot," Davidson said. "It takes like three hours — you have to get there like three hours earlier — to cover all your tattoos. For some reason, people in movies, they don't have them that much."

"So now I am burning them off, but burning them off is worse than getting them," Davidson added. "So before he goes to laser each tattoo, you hear him announce what the tattoo is to make sure if you want to keep it or not."

"I get my next treatment [in] like a month or so," the comedian told People. "They said by the time I’m 30, they should all be gone. So they got, like, two more years left of this." As of writing Pete Davidson is 28 years old.
