Pete Davidson may have been considering leaving Saturday Night Live for some time, but his girlfriend Kim Kardashian was reportedly on board from the start.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, a source said that Kim believes this move will take Pete’s career to the next level. “Kim completely has Pete’s back and she thinks he’s making the smartest decision for his career.”

The insider said that while Kim believes SNL has been an “incredible opportunity” for Pete, “he [now] has a huge fan base now and can do anything he wants.”

Why Kim Prefers That Pete Is Off ‘SNL’

It’s more than Kim believing Pete’s departure will benefit his career; it also benefits their relationship.

“She loves that he’ll have more freedom with his schedule now,” the source continued. “She thinks he made the right call to bow out.” However, they added that Pete “already has a ton of projects lined up.”

A second source told the publication how difficult it was to work around Pete’s demanding Saturday Night Live schedule.

“SNL took up a lot of time to film,” they explained. “And he would never be able to do other projects because of the fact that it required so much rehearsal and that took several days of the week, not to mention the fact that all his weekends were shot.”

While Kim and Pete appear to be going strong, long-distance and complicated schedules could be a forewarning of difficulty. Kim’s relationship with her ex-husband Kanye West reportedly suffered when he attempted to live in separate states.

During an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians aired last year, Kim expressed guilt over not being supportive of Kanye’s desire to live in Wyoming and having commitments in California that prevented her and their kids from living their full-time.

I can’t do that. He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t. I feel like a f–king failure,” Kim said.

But with Pete apparently having more flexibility in his schedule post-SNL, it may bode well for the new couple.

Last week, we reported that Pete was gearing up for his final SNL episode. His fellow cast members Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney were also saying final farewell on the season finale. Pete broke records when he became the show’s youngest cast member at the age of 2020 in 2014.

The comedian has previously expressed a desire to leave SNL. "It's a hard thing to do, because you don't want to ever pull the trigger too early,” he said in 2020, adding he wasn’t a fan of how the show sometimes mocks him. " I personally think that I should be done with that show, because they make fun of me on it."
