You may recognize Phoebe French from her outstanding role in the hit series Cobra Kai, which just released its fifth season on Netflix. But, she is now also starring in the streaming service's #1 movie this week: Do Revenge.
TheThings sat down with Phoebe once again to talk about her new role, the filming process, and her favorite co-star.
Phoebe French Loves Her Character In Do Revenge

We have seen Phoebe play everything from a talented martial arts student, to a passenger on a spaceship. But for the actress, this new role was a completely different ball game.
"Jade was such a great character to portray. Her clique of friends definitely stand out on campus, and I can’t wait for you to get to see why."
The rising performer also shared how she would compare her character Jade to herself in real life.
"I would say that overall, Jade is pretty different from me- but this made for a fun challenge. We do have some similarities, in that we both seek approval from others. Jade is definitely in that prime high school age where you are trying to find yourself and see where you fit in, and she wants to be able to fit in with the popular crowd. I think that this is kind of a universal feeling for a lot of teen girls, and I went through these feelings when I was in high school."
Phoebe Was Starstruck To Work With Maya Hawke
Do Revenge is truly a star-studded cast. From Riverdale actress Camille Mendes to horror icon Sarah Michelle Gellar, this film definitely has it all.
"The cast is AMAZING! I think that it’s so neat how we have so many different young adult stars from all of these current hit shows."
But even then, there was one co-star in particular French particularly loved to work alongside.
"I loved working with everyone, but I think I was definitely starstruck to be around Maya Hawke. She was so kind and professional, and I am a huge fan of Stranger Things."
And not surprisingly, Phoebe also credited Stranger Things for being one of her current favorite Netflix shows.
"I would probably have to say that it is one of my favorites. I think it keeps outdoing itself every season, and I can’t wait until Season 5. I also watched the original show 'Maid' recently, and it blew me away. Definitely recommend."
Phoebe Made Long-Lasting Friends On Do Revenge
This film in particular was not a one-set location. Apparently, the entire cast filmed all over the country!
"Since the film is set in Miami, we traveled from Atlanta down to Miami, to film some of the exterior shots. I had a blast there, filming by the beach, exploring Miami, and getting to see all the cast and crew in a totally new location," Phoebe adds.
And during the filming process, which took countless weeks to produce, the rising actress has nothing but good things to say about her experience:
"There are so many great memories that I made during filming. We filmed together for an entire summer, and I made some of my best friends (who are now my roommates) on set. One of my favorite behind the scenes stories would be when we were filming a series of overnight shoots. We filmed from about 4:00pm to 8:00am for about four nights in a row...we had a lot of caffeine during that week! The whole cast was there, and we were on a tight schedule because we had to film as much as we could while it was dark outside. So, right before we were about to begin one day, I was getting my bangs cut, getting fitted for a costume, and getting my makeup done at the same time."
