18 Pictures Of The Boy Meets World Cast...20 Years Later

Boy Meets World was one of the greatest coming of age stories of the 1990s. The teen sitcom aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000, lasting seven seasons, which was much longer than creators Michael Jacobs and April Kelly imagined it would last. It resonated with audiences thanks to its likable characters and powerful messages.

Many of the actors on the show reprised their roles in Girl Meets World, the spin-off that ran from 2014 to 2017. Others went on to make the transition from child actor to adult actor. A few fell off the radar and haven’t been seen much since. It might be a surprise to some people to see that some of their favorite actors and actresses appeared on the show, such as Linda Cardellini, Brittany Murphy, and Chris Hardwick.

Let’s take a look at 18 actors and actresses from Boy Meets World, and see what they look like today.

18 Ben Savage (Cory Matthews)

via Scoopnest

Ben Savage played Cory Matthews, the lead role in Boy Meets World, from 1993 to 2000, and he’s managed to keep his youthful appearance and curly hair since that time. After Boy Meets World, he had smaller parts in shows like Party of Five, Chuck, Without a Trace, Girl Meets World (he directed 10 episodes and reprised his role as Cory), Criminal Minds, and more.

While he was much more famous as a child actor, he still managed to find work.

17 Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence-Matthews)

via Postpopular

Topanga was the first TV crush for many boys growing up in the ‘90s, and it’s nice to see that Danielle Fishel, the actress who played Topanga all those years ago, still looks almost exactly the same!

Since her foray in the teen sitcom, she’s reprised her role in Girl Meets World (2014-2017) and was the host of Style Network’s The Dish. She’s also a resident reporter on PopSugar.

16 Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter)

via In Touch Weekly

Rider Strong has had quite an eclectic career since playing Shawn Hunter on Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World. He had a big role in the 2002 horror film, Cabin Fever, voiced the role of Tom Lucitor in Star vs. the Forces of Evil, and has credits for directing, producing, and screenwriting.

In 2000 he won a shared Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award with Ben Savage, for “Favorite Television Friends.”

15 Trina McGee (Angela Moore)

via Closer Weekly

Trina McGee has also made quite a few bit appearances in shows since her time on Boy Meets World, but she’ll always be remembered for playing Angela Moore and helping to dissolve the stigma of interracial relationships (with Shawn Hunter), which was a rarity at the time for a major network TV show.

Even though her role was in a teen sitcom, McGee helped push the envelope on racial inequality and acceptance in television, and we should all thank her for that.

14 Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter)

via In Touch Weekly

Matthew Lawrence first began acting in the mid-80s, in the show Dynasty. He then appeared alongside Robin Williams in 1993’s Mrs. Doubtfire, which helped launch his career. He maintained starring roles in Brotherly Love, with his real-life brothers, and as Jack Hunter in Boy Meets World, the brother of Shawn Hunter.

He played smaller roles since then, in shows like Melissa & Joey and Girl Meets World.

13 Maitland Ward (Rachel McGuire)

via E! News

Maitland Ward started as Jack and Eric’s new roommate in season 6 of Boy Meets World, Rachel McGuire, where she quickly became friends to Cory, Topanga, Angela, and Eric. Since then, the redhead has both become a renowned cosplayer at comic conventions, help to raise her profile, while also making a deviation in topless/nude posing on Snapchat and IG, helping her gain a large following.

12 Will Friedle (Eric Matthews)

via Sportingz

Will Friedle played Cory’s underachieving older brother on Boy Meets World, and since then he’s made a huge career for himself being a voice actor. He’s voiced characters such as Terry McGinnis/Batman (Batman Beyond), Ron Stoppable (Kim Possible), Deadpool (Ultimate Spider-Man), Star-Lord (animated version of Guardians of the Galaxy).

He also voiced Lion-O in the reboot of ThunderCats, Bumblebee in the final episode of Transformers: Prime, and more.

11 William Daniels (George Feeny)

via In Touch Weekly

Pretty much everyone who grew up in the ‘90s remembers the kind-but-stern, inspirational Mr. Feeny, played by William Daniels. He was the teacher we all wished we had, always pushing Cory to do his best. Daniels has won two Emmy Awards, one for his role as Dr. Mark Craig in the NBC drama St. Elsewhere, and one for playing Mr. Feeny.

He was also the leader of the Screen Actors Guild from 1999 to 2001. He famously played Dustin Hoffman’s father in The Graduate and was the voice of KITT in Knight Rider.

10 Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews)

via In Touch Weekly

Betsy Randle played the role of Amy Matthews in Boy Meets World, who was the mother of Eric, Cory, Morgan, and Joshua. She began as a real estate agent but ended the show as an art gallery worker. She was a bit of a disciplinarian compared to her husband, Alan, discouraging “babying” Cory.

Betsy Randle has starred in Adam Ruins Everything, Dirty 30, Charmed, The Beat, and many more shows since then.

9 William Russ (Alan Matthews)

via In Touch Weekly

If Mr. Feeny was the teacher we all wished we had growing up in the ‘90s, then Alan Matthews, played by William Russ, was the dad we all wished we had. Russ has also had notable roles in feature films The Right Stuff (1983), Pastime (1990), and American History X (1998).

He also appeared in just about every mainstream drama you could imagine, from CSI, The Sopranos, Boston Legal, Without a Trace, NYPD Blue, Deadwood, The Mentalist, Cold Case, Criminal Minds, NCIS, The Ex List, The West Wing, and much more.

8 Lily Nicksay (Morgan Matthews)

via Hollywood

Lily Nicksay played Morgan Matthews, Cory’s little sister, in the first two seasons of Boy Meets World. She also reprised the role for the season 3 finale of Girl Meets World.

Since then, Lily has become quite the blonde bombshell and has had many guest appearances on TV shows like The Mentalist, The Guardian, 8 Simple Rules, and Judging Amy.

7 Lindsay Ridgeway (Morgan Matthews)

via E! Online

After Lily Nicksay departed from the show, Lindsay Ridgeway played Cory’s little sister from seasons 3 to 7. Ridgeway hasn’t done too much acting since 2000, with only two credits under her belt, from 2004’s Totally Spies! and Girl Meets World in 2017.

But during her tenure on Boy Meets World, she also starred in Cats Don’t Dance (1997) and The Wonderful World of Disney (1995).

6 Anthony Tyler Quinn (Jonathan Turner)

via Closer Weekly

Anthony Tyler Quinn played the sort of the antithesis of William Daniels’ George Feeny, as his character Mr. Turner was the “cool” high school teacher. He also fostered Shawn, later in the show.

Like the other actors on the show, he reprised his role from 2014 to 2017 in Girl Meets World, after playing the part 20 years earlier, from 1994 to 1997, in the original show. He had many guest appearances since then, in shows like House M.D., Days of Our Lives, Pretty Little Liars, NCIS, and more.

5 Lee Norris (Stuart Minkus)

via Albany Daily News

Lee Norris played the nerdy kid in Cory and Shawn’s sixth-grade class, Stuart Minkus. He had a big crush on Topanga, which unfortunately never worked out in his favor. He was often made fun of by Cory and Shawn, showing that Boy Meets World wasn’t progressive in all of its issues—bullying was a big factor, even coming from the “protagonists.”

He was a major recurring character in Girl Meets World, despite his brief tenure on the original show.

4 Ethan Suplee (Frankie Stechino)

via E! Online

Ethan Suplee played Frankie Stechino, or “Frankie the Enforcer.” He was one of Harley Keiner’s lackeys but eventually became a close friend to Cory and Shawn. He went from torturing other students to reforming into a kinder person, and because of that, his tenure lasted much longer than his counterparts, Harley and Joey.

Suplee has had a great career since then, starring in shows like My Name Is Earl and Santa Clarita Diet, and movies like The Wolf of Wall Street and Without a Paddle.

3 Danny McNulty (Harvey Keiner)

via Hollywood

Danny McNulty played Harvey Keiner, or “Harley,” first appearing as the bane of Cory’s existence. He was a major antagonist for about a year on the show. He was phased out after season two but was a recurring character on Girl Meets World.

McNulty starred in the 2017-2018 show John the Thief, but other than that he’s mainly stayed out of the limelight.

2 Brittany Murphy (Trini Martin)

via Albany Daily News

Brittany Murphy appeared in two episodes of Boy Meets World, as Topanga’s best friend Trini Martin, during the first year of high school. She’s annoying and Cory disliked her. Brittany Murphy has had quite a career though, playing big parts in movies like 8 Mile, Clueless, Just Married, Sin City, and more.

She has at least 3 to 5 credits every year since her short stay on Boy Meets World and was the voice actor for Luanne Platter, Joseph Gribble, Obadiah the Donkey, for 254 episodes of King of the Hill, from 1997 to 2010.

1 Linda Cardellini (Lauren)

via E! Online

Few might remember, but Linda Cardellini appeared in an episode of Boy Meets World, as the ski lodge worker Lauren, who Cory kissed, even though he was going out with Topanga at the time. Linda Cardellini has had a very successful acting career, playing roles in Brokeback Mountain, Scooby-Doo (live action), Legally Blonde, and as Laura Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She also starred in heaps of TV shows, like Regular Show, Gravity Falls, Sanjay and Craig, Bloodline, and that’s just in the last 5 years.
