Meghan and Harry have been heavily critcized after it emerged they won't delay the release of their Oprah Winfrey interview - despite Prince Philip's hospitalization.

The couple are under huge pressure to ask Ms Winfrey to delay the broadcast in the US on Sunday night. Buckingham Palace announced today Harry's 99-year-old grandfather underwent heart surgery.

Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed today that the screening on Sunday night is still expected to go ahead.

The insider insists the decision now lies with broadcaster CBS, who are set to make millions from advertisements from the two-hour show.

"There are a lot of people who are going to talk about this until the programme airs, but the programming and all the rest of it is ultimately up to CBS, we're not involved in that side of things", the source said, adding: "As it stands, I don't think there is any intention from the programme maker to change its air date."

One of Meghan and Harry's biggest critics is former America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan.

The 55-year-old branded the pair a "disgrace" for essentially calling the Queen and Prince Philip "liars," as a new teaser clip for the highly anticipated interview was released today.

"Let's be very clear: the new clip from Oprah's whine-athon with the Sussexes shows Meghan Markle directly calling the Queen & Prince Philip liars. They are the heads of 'The Firm'. And she's done this as Philip lies seriously ill in hospital. It's an absolute disgrace," Morgan tweeted.

The Good Morning Britain host also took a personal jab at Meghan.

"Ms Markle thinks she’s in a movie. This interview is going to be Oscar-winning deluded self-serving bilge," he wrote.

Morgan has repeated time and time again that he struck up a friendship with Meghan in June 2016. He claims the actress admitted that she was a "fan" of his.

The pair went for drinks in Piers' local pub in Kensington, where he ordered a pint of bitter and she had a dirty martini. They sat down for some 90 minutes and she later took an uber to dinner in Mayfair. The following night was spotted at Soho House with Prince Harry.

Morgan said the pair exchanged friendly emails - but then cut him off. Leading the broadcaster to label her a "social climber."
