It seems Piers Morgan is fixated with the fact that he's still trending, but now he's gone and acted so poorly and distastefully that he's going to be trending for all the wrong reasons, and that doesn't quite count.
Lately, he's put himself in the spotlight for his ruthless and relentless attacks against Meghan Markle. Clearly not a fan of hers in any way, he has blasted both Meghan and Prince Harry for being at fault for casting doubts on the monarchy, and for dragging their reputation through the dirt.
Morgan may have been trying to bury Meghan Markle this week, but now he's gone and dug himself into a deep hole with comments he made towards a coworker. What he said will shock you even more than any of the other vile things he's said all last week.
Piers Morgan Sexualizes His Coworker
Piers Morgan is under fire for horrible comments made towards his coworker on live television. His commentary is absolutely unacceptable to fans, and made everyone around him visibly uncomfortable.
This began right at the very start of the segment as Morgan looked straight into the camera and said; "my eyes are slightly distracted this morning because apparently summer has arrived, which I wasn't aware of." He then drew everyone's attention to the fact that Charlotte Hawkins was wearing a dress." As the camera pointed in her direction, she looked visibly uncomfortable as she struggled to keep her facial expression composed.
It got worse.
Morgan then gestured for her to stand up, in the most demoralizing way by gesturing and saying; "up you get." In a horribly invasive, exploitative moment, Charlotte, who was caught completely off guard, stood up on live TV, and put herself in full view of the cameras.
Fans Think This Is A Disgrace
As the cameras continued to roll, Charlotte said: "I'd like to think there's more important matters...." and Morgan could be heard in the background saying, "Am I complaining?"
Fans are infuriated, and are taking to Twitter with rage. "That’s text book workplace harassment, he just keeps badgering her and attempting to get her to buckle to take his side in the matter. Completely shambles of a person!" said one fan, while another wrote; "They literally allowed it on air... Tells you a ton about the folks in control of that 'firm.'"
Another person wrote; "Such a sexist wouldn't be allowed on air again by the public in South Africa, a 3rd world country," and another comment said; "Ugh that incredibly uncomfortable laugh she gave in the end, how we women know that too well... also, if he is saying stuff like this ON camera what is his behavior behind it?!"
It was just last week that fans began to unearth highly exploitative interviews from David Letterman's past, and it seems this is now the road they'll be taking with Piers Morgan.
He's a man under fire, and this time the verbal lashing is going to be directed at him, rather than coming from him.
