Musical artist Pink dominated the early 2000s with her edgy pop-rock sound and rebellious fashion choices. Despite making a $200 million dollar name for herself in the music industry, her journey to the top wasn’t easy.

In an exclusive interview with People, the mother of two looked back on her career and how she was constantly compared to other female pop singers.

She revealed that was “pitted” against Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in the early stage of her career.

"It was so unfair to all the girls," Pink said. "None of us wanted that."

Pink recalled that she was labeled the “anti-Britney” for her punk rock look, which is something she never approved of.

"I love Britney — she used to carry around my album," Pink said. "I was like, 'Dude, I'm a street punk, I just skateboard. That doesn't have to be the anti-Britney. I don't want to fight anybody.'"

"I think we navigated through it as good as a 20-year-old girl can," she added. "Now I think it's totally different. Girls supporting girls is rad — I love to watch it."

Pink did once have an ongoing public feud with Christina Aguilera, ever since their collaboration on the 2001 cover of Patti LaBelle's hit single “Lady Marmalade." The two have since ended the feud, however and have remained cordial.

Pink once talked about how she and Aguilera made amends with each other on an episode of Watch What Happens Live in 2017.

“We were super young and super new at the whole thing, and I think I’m an alpha and she’s an alpha,” she said. “I’m used to taking my altercations physical, and she’s used to having them verbal.”

At the time, the singer received some helpful advice from her music producer L.A. Reid about the situation.

"One of the best things that L.A. Reid ever told me was that this music business is big enough for everybody to win at the same time. There's no such thing as competition," she said.
