Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Lilibet might not have a royal title — but she's still eighth in the line of succession to the British throne, next to her brother Archie-Harrison who is seventh. Their grandfather Prince Charles is first in line followed by Prince William and his children George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Lilibet Diana, who is the first senior royal to be born in the United States hadn't been recognized by the family's official website for nearly 2 months since she was born. On July 26, Lilibet was finally listed as the eighth member of the Royal Family in the official line of succession to the throne.

Why Wasn't Lilibet Acknowledged Before?

Fans of Meghan and Prince Harry were furious to see that Lilibet was being ignored weeks after her birth. At the time, Prince Andrew was listed as eight in line, while Lilibet's name was still absent.

The Royal Family website keeps the public updated on all matters corresponding to the House of Windsor, and as per TMZ, added Archie-Harrison's name to the list just two weeks after he was born.

It is unknown whether the Royal Family was "making a point" by keeping Lilibet's name off the list, or they just forgot about it. Ever since fans discovered that Prince Harry wanted Lilibet's christening to take place at Windsor (just like her brother Archie), the tension in the family has been at an all-time high.

Some Twitter users believe that Lilibet's name wasn't added to the website because Prince Harry and Meghan were being difficult about sending the birth certificate to the Queen, and the family decided to respond in this way.

Another expressed that maybe Lilibet and Harry are in the process of being removed from the line of succession, and the Duke and Duchess will be stripped off of their titles.

A user wrote: "Lili was born in the US and her mother is American- that automatically makes her a US citizen, and not eligible" to be in the one of succession to the British throne. Since the Royal Family website had included Lilibet in the list now, it is possible that her citizenship doesn't matter.
