Hours before, a clip of the Cambridge's jumping up in celebration of England's goal went viral on Twitter. Prince William was as excited as fans have seen him all year, and Prince George excitedly hugged his parents and couldn't stop smiling!

After the game ended, Prince William, who is President of the Football Association wrote a tribute for England's team, graciously taking the loss in stride. The Prince also spoke out against the racist backlash faced by the team's players, who were unsuccessful in their penalty kick attempts.

What Prince William hoped would be a message of solidarity is being used against him, with football fans calling him out for his lack of credibility. Fans are referring to his behavior as "performative allyship" and are inquiring why he wasn't vocal about the racist abuse directed at his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle hasn't been in the UK for over a year since leaving in 2020, but Prince Harry returned home only recently. He was present for the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue at Kensington Palace, which made royal fans wonder if the estranged brothers would speak again. Their reunion was brief, and if online reports are to be believed, the brothers haven't mended any fences.
