Prior to joining the series as the host, Tim Gunn reigned as the face of the show for a whopping 16 seasons, that is until him and fellow judge, Heidi Klum's departure. While Siriano has proven himself to be quite the fahsion mogul, fans feel as if his hosting skills simply aren't up to par, especially when it comes to his criticisms.

Christian Siriano Won Season 4 Of 'Project Runway'

Christian Siriano certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to fashion. The designer found himself on the fourth season of Project Runway, becoming the youngest contestant to join the series at 23 years old. His passion for fashion certainly set him apart from the rest, not only proving his skill, but securing himself the win!

Following his win, Christian Siriano skyrocketed, finding his designs across the world, all while creating an affordable line for Payless Shoes. While his career evolution is certainly one worth following, Siriano went from Project Runway to the red carpet. The designer has gone on to create stunning looks for countless celebs including, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez, and Ariana Grande, to name a few, making it clear that he's truly made it!

Fans Question Christian's Criticisms

Following Tim Gunn's departure from the series after season 16 of Project Runway, Christian Siriano officially stepped in as the series host. Despite his expertise playing a major role in mentoring the contestants, it seems as if fans aren't totally happy with his delivery. When it comes to his workroom visits, Christian provides the designers with has much criticism as he can, however, fans find it more snarky than constructive.

For instance, last episode Christian referred to one of the designer's pieces as a "Christmas present I don't want," which doesn't provide much advice, but more so a sting to the contestant. Fans were quick to this out online, saying, "Christian approaching the designer saying "Looks like a Christmas Ppesent I don't want" - is why he is a terrible mentor. Snotty, stuck up - no help whatsoever - does he even remember how Tim Gunn treated people," @Mimiof27 tweeted out.

Viewers also pointed out that while some of his feedback is constructive, his delivery is simply missing the mark. "Christian gives good feedback but he needs to work on his delivery. His comments sound more insulting than helpful," one fan wrote on Twitter. It's becoming clear that while his prowess in fashion is unmatched, his hosting skills just don't seem to be hitting the target.

What Happened To Tim Gunn?

Fans are making it clear now more than ever that they miss Tim Gunn! The former host certainly had a genuine connection with the designers, and provided constructive criticism that actually benefits the contestant rather than attempting to concoct a hilarious one-liner that lands flat. While fans would love to have him back, Tim is busy on his newest show, Making The Cut.

After 16 seasons, Tim Gunn officially left Project Runway along with Heidi Klum, and it mainly had to with their voices not being heard. The duo wanted to make changes to the show's format for quite some time, however, it wasn't happening. In an interview with the New York Post, Gunn revealed, "The network wouldn't budge — they said 'This is a success, people like the format, we're not going to change anything.'"

So, Gunn and Klum decided to take matters into their own hands and create their own series on Amazon Prime Video. The two made it clear that what makes Making The Cut so different from Project Runway is that viewers can acually purchase the designs the contestants create! This is quite a genius idea, which Project Runway certinly missed out on.
