According to some behind the scenes stories, Rachael Ray may not be the easiest person to deal with. There are several celebrities who have had stories come out about their diva behavior.
Some will make outrageous demands of their assistants, while others are reportedly rude to workers such as restaurant staff. Sometimes celebrities don't make life easy for their assistants behind the scenes.
It seems Rachael Ray isn't easy for her staff to deal with behind the scenes. Although Ray usually comes across as cheerful and enthusiastic when she's on-screen, supposedly she's not as friendly as she appears. She has also been criticized by several chefs, and entered into feuds with more than one of them.
It appears Rachael Ray isn't always very nice to her fans either. Rachael Ray may not be the easiest person to deal with according to some behind the scenes stories.
Rachael Ray Might Not Be Easy To Deal With Behind The Scenes
Some celebrities are happy to meet fans and usually friendly towards workers and their own assistants. However, there are others who have had stories come out about their supposed rude behavior towards their own fans and others.
It seems Rachael Ray has been rude to others around her, including her staff, restaurant staff and even fans. According to Nicki Swift, one Reddit user stated that Ray seemed to have been pretty rude to the wait staff at a restaurant. It seems the 30 Minute Meals host isn't that easy to deal with.
"They shared that she had little to say to those who worked at the restaurant and refused to sign an autograph for a fan as she exited the establishment."
It seems the Food Network star was also harsh with a hotel employee. "Besides the claims that the TV cook is a nightmare of a customer, she allegedly had it out with a hotel concierge, reportedly stating, "I need stupid people not to talk to me."
According to Tripadvisor, one of her fans claimed that her staff seemed to "walk on eggshells" around her.
"We were able to see how she acted with her attentive staff. That was by far the most disheartening. She was firm - yes, but the real problem was her ungrateful attitude. She would roll her eyes at her staff and say things like 'well what do you expect me to do?' And 'well use your head...' Very disheartening. Clearly her staff was walking on eggshells around her and that was awful."
Other Chefs Have Spoken Out Against Rachael Ray
Sometimes in the industry, a celebrity might make a comment or do something that have drawn some criticism from others in their field. Celebrities can even begin feuding privately or in public because of their disagreements.
Rachael Ray has been the subject of quite a bit of criticism from some celebrity chefs and at least one food writer. Critics seem to point out that she can't really cook, and claim that her shows don't really have much substance.
According to Mashed, Anthony Bourdain made his feelings known about the host. He wrote a guest post on author Michael Ruhlman's blog (which has been deleted), in which Bourdain stated, "We know she can't cook. She shrewdly tells us so. So... what is she selling us? Really?"
He continued, "She's selling us satisfaction, the smug reassurance that mediocrity is quite enough."
Food writer Sara Dickerman also criticized Ray, stating, "Worst of all, there are endless hours of Rachael Ray, who dines out on the cheap and cooks on the fly, chirpily renouncing such culinary values as elegance, subtlety, and perhaps even flavor."
Has Rachael Ray Been Rude To Fans?
Several celebrities are known for being nice: happy to take pictures with fans or answer questions about their fans' favorite movies. However, some celebrities would rather not interact with their fans as much, especially if one is invading their personal space or a celebrity is spending special time with their family. Unfortunately, some celebrities are unnecessarily rude to their fans.
Reportedly Rachael Ray hasn't always been as friendly and cheerful towards her fans as she appears on-screen. It seems some of her behavior towards fans has been pretty rude.
According to brain-sharper.com, she didn't seem to be in the mood to talk. "When someone asked her how her day was, she said, 'Don't talk to me."
According to one fan who posted their review on Tripadvisor after attending her show, Rachael Ray didn't come across as very friendly to her fans, despite her cheerful presence on the screen.
They claimed, "We could not wait to see RR (Rachael Ray) and find out who the guests were. When she came out to greet the audience, she was cold, even seemingly annoyed that she had to do the show. In fact, she said that she was on her 9th hour of her day because she did GMA earlier and still had two shows to record after this one. She complained!"
It could be that Ray had a bad day and was over-tired. Or, this could be how she usually behaves. Either way, some of her fans might have come a long way to see her. No matter what, they gave up their time in order to see a celebrity they're a fan of, and they don't deserve to be treated badly.
The fan continued, "She rolled her eyes and was not at all the perky, spunky personality we've come to know on her show."
